btw...we were cut off from the rest of the world because so many trees blew down that you could not drive 50 feet in any direction and not have one or two huge trees over the road.... and did the government or fema or red cross come to our rescue? nope. within 24 hours locals and volunteers had most roads clear enough we could drive to the store and stuff... yay!
I was here on the north coast in 07 and it was something else. we were completely cut off and power out over a week. BUT it's a great place to ride such things out...a very tight community of folks... Actually, it ended up being kind of fun. :o) A break from the daily drudgery...people gathering and helping people and those with woodstoves and gas stoves or generators and even some local stores were preparing food for everyone for free. groovy.
I live in Lincoln City and after watching this am totally creeped out! I will attempt to get some footage tomorrow morning for everyone to see! We also live only 1 block from a large creek/river that 2 blocks away feeds into the Siletz Bay and the Pacific Ocean. This will be very...Interesting to say the least.
Thank you for all the important information. I hope you are feeling better very soon.
