For winter the goats have a 3 sided structure to keep the wind and rain off of them. They are fine with the cold if they do not get wet and can stay out of the wind.
We also use plastic calf hutches, which are easy to move. Rotating the goats home on a section of the yard is a big part of our parasite management plan.
A friend in VT makes some fantastic goat structures out of stock panels and tarps.

That's very cool and very simple. What area are you in? Do you get heavy snow? If you do, what type of shelter do they have in the colder months?
