Lower weight, also it's situated behind the front wheels (the 2jz overhangs) and lower so it gives better handling due to a lower centre of gravity.

i saw this car when it came to new zealand for the option speed trial in 1999 its an awsum creation the car was set up for circut racing and uses the 3sgte out of a toyota mr2 which sits further back in the engine bay giving the car better balance also gives a good weight reduction a verry cool car

The car was made to mimic the JGTC cars. Those race cars don't run 2JZ motors so that's why he went with the 3SGTE. Hence GT300 supra. The car ended up making 720hp with that motor.

Actually Mr. Nagata did build 3S-GTE and 1GZ-FE 5.0 liter V12 from the Toyota Century into Supra, but I'm not sure if the V12 Supra is from the previous 3S-GTE powered Supra or not.

TMED05 is right except that the v12 supra is a Completely different supra (mr nagata also built a rb26 powered one and brought it to new zealand. the reason for the four clyinder was to save weight and better weight distubution (he wanted it to be like the super jgtc supras that they have hope this helps :)
