  • I love your videos, they are always so informative and I agree with the person below, you do sound like James May, who I love! I hope you do more reviews for cameras and motorbikes, just got one and looking to start doing videos.

  • @gareth7o9 I'm hoping to get another bike sometime in 2012....so hopefully I'll be able to do more bike type stuff.

  • btw, was the actual footage off your motorcycle in thid vid taken with the 808#11, 720p?

I ask because the quality of the video is far inferior to your other vid. Or perhaps is the decrease in quality attributed to the shaking/wind?

  • very excellent tutorial!!!

  • Very clever idea! Never even thought about microphone kit trying to mount mine.

  • Anyone find the G-clamp he mentioned? I've looked everywhere...I've found on amazon UK, but they dont ship to the U.S... any help would be appreciated!

  • @tristantao Check eBay item number 110542755828

  • @Techmoan That about 35 bucks. I actually found one on Ebay in the U.S. that was on auction with a kick/tom mic.. didn't win, but bought this instead: search on amazon B0010CYHW4.

    way cheaper for U.S. customers.

Nevertheless, thanks for the reply and I have to say, great vid!

  • try opening the camera to expose the inside and put a small piece of sponge in front of the microphone, it will stop the air sound because air won't be able to reach the mic.

  • well done

  • where can i get a car key cam like that??

  • OMG you sound like James from top gear, are you James may?

  • @kny4eva Unfortunately not. I think if James May had to resort to making YouTube videos to earn a bit of pocket money...he'd probably go and shoot himself.

  • @Techmoan Nevertheless, fantastic videos mate. Enjoyed watching most of em. Gave me loads of ideas =) Thanks.

  • Really good video !

Can you make a video for a bike please ?

  • I used to put my mini key camera in a sponge and fit that in the air intake below my front headlights on my ZX-6R.

But this looks like a brilliant and nice idea!

I might try something like that.

Thanks mate, keep up the good work!

  • @thomasemperor I think your sponge idea is probably better than mine....I'm going to try the sponge, if I can find a suitable vent.

  • @Techmoan On my YouTube profile you can find a video I made earlier with the camera in a sponge.

Sometimes you hear a crispy/buzzing sound, but I think that is caused by a vibrating microphone as you only hear it at a certain rpm.

  • @thomasemperor what did that do to the performance of your bike? It kinda defeats the purpose of having a ram air intake I'd guess...

  • Thanks for making these videos, your brilliant and you sound like James May!

  • @OleVanDole Cheers.

  • @OleVanDole Hah, that's actually really true, he does! :D I was wondering why it sounded so familiar. Excellent videos too, just bought one of these too.

  • have you tried loading some weight into the back of the tube, to give it a little more inertia as the mount is deigned to hold a mike that is considerably heavier than the camera

  • @robgrange Good suggestion.....however I don't think that the microphone holder really worked out that much better than good old duct tape in the end. Never mind...some you win....

  • Handa sucks

  • @1dcramo Thanks for the insightful tip ...I'll try to avoid this 'Handa', whatever or whoever that may be..

  • Make your own shock mount with rubber bands instead.

  • well good idea, but i think this complicated constuction isn't really nessecary.

I just used tape to fix it at my crash pad. it costed about 5 cent ;)

my video looks like the same like yours you can see it in my channel..

  • @flyingMacFly You are absolutely right. Your solution is just as good.

  • That's a nice Deauville you have there.

  • I'm using "MPlayer delogo" filter to remove ugly logos and timestamps from videos.

VirtualDub also has a filter that does it.

  • @suma4m It's ok, you can remove the time stamp by changing the firmware on this camera. Unfortunately I put this video together before I updated this camera. it's date/time free now.

  • Nice review, I take it this isn't waterproof (The camera itself)

  • @cscarlet696 No, unfortunately not. Shortly after the end of the clip, the camera did get splashed with a muddy puddle (making the rest of the video murky). It kept recording though, and after I cleaned the mud off, it's fine again.

  • Great to watch all your reviews. I have an 808 #11in transit at the moment and am interested if a mere mortal like my self would be able to breath life into a dead model as you did.?? I am sure I would want to remove the date. keep up the good work.

  • @britinozoz I think you'll be fine. I just got unlucky with my first attempt, just make sure it's fully charged and if possible, power it from the USB socket whilst you flash it. A few people have reported back to me that they have used the firmware from my website to successfully flash their cameras without any drama. Good luck.

  • I wonder if the viewing angle with the fe-12 fisheye is wide enough to create go-pro-style views pointing at the rider... i will try it out soon when i get my camera...

  • I could watch a video driving though the country side like that all day. I put it up on my big screen tv and it was very relaxing. Kind of like the video of the fake fireplace.

  • Excellent stuff. Thanks for doing these videos.

  • Great trick, thanks for sharing. I purchased one of these 808 #11 cameras based on your previous review and it should arrive any day now. BTW, your video can be smoothed out using the Deshaker plugin for VirtualDub. Folks seem to have great success with it based on their Youtube samples.

  • First Dislike ;)

  • I've got to mention that there is some blocking visible on the video, particularly towards the bottom that isn't there on the original. This will be down to the YouTube re-encode.

  • i tried REALLY hard NOT to look at the date and time you inadvertently had on your video, but ironically that is all i looked at through the entire road sequence.

The bright orange clock counting away was absolutely mesmerizing. I was fixated like a hypnotic puppet eager to carry out any commands instantly.

I completely lost the plot why I was even watching this youtube video at the end for about 30 seconds that is when I realised what had happened and had to report it immediately on here.

  • @viciouswhips That's the big problem with saying Not to do something, it becomes impossible not to do it.

  • great video.

  • Nice Job.

  • you make the best videos!!! thanks

  • great info!

  • These videos don't help me whatsoever (I don't have a motorobike ahaha) but I still love watching them

  • Impressive, I purchased the HD 720p 808 from E-bay after your last review, I am happy considering the low price. I have a lot of CMOS wobble, but will investigate more mounting options, many thanks.

  • i think i would just put my camera glasses on the dashboard and tape them down lol!

    awesome little set up there!

  • Surprisingly steady.

About wide angle - there are wide angle attachable lenses for mobiles. Dunno if there's a way to attach one to key camera, but that PVC tube might help.

  • @visnevskiscom Good idea - I might try ordering one and see how it works out.

  • The quality still amazes me!

  • Very interesting, always good to see people using their imagination!
