@AnnoyingTypoSyndrome There are other reincarnation cases that have been made into films if you are genuinely interested. Search for "Jefferey Keene", "Jenny Cockell", "James Leininger" and the wonderful 1983 Australian doctumentary for a slightly more convincing stories than this one.

Those planes were in service for a VERY long time. But how long did they land them on the island and when? What year? Was Cameron possibly a neighbourhood kid who used to hang out at the house and died by accident?
It could be that his father's name was Shawn and that his mom and dad did not marry. But if the mom's name was Robertson, the child assumed his Dad's was as well. Or it could be his mom married a Robertson after she had Shawn's son.It could also be that this Shawn was hit by a car and the boy never really met his Dad Shawn except for being told about him by his mom.??????????
They say adults dont remember possible past lives. But what if an adult has certain feelings he or she can't explain towards a certain place, country, anthem etc? Not everyone has the vivid memories that the child had. Is it possible that people experience feelings or phobias that are related to past lives?

A possible explanation is to view his past life memory as past life memories. Like acetates on an overhead projector placed one on top of another. The memories of one life merge with another. Or like in our dreams where we link people from one phase of our lives to places in another. What is certain is that the boy had too many vivid memories that matched perfectly with the island he lived on for it to be coincidence. Even the name Robertson matched.
Maybe the reason there is no record of a child dieing, is because he was murdered and that is why he is remembering, just a thought that crossed my mind.

This documentary was quite compelling and moving. I've watched several other documentaries on the subject of reincarnation, but not many people who claim to remember past lives were quite as remarkable as young Cameron. It was touching to see his reaction to the house he claimed to have lived in and quite obvious, whatever this past life thing is all about, that he was really remembering something personal to him, without prompting.
I wonder if he is having memories from two different past lives, the house and stuff from the most recent life, and the family and father figure from an older one maybe?
@Oreocremerocks If we do in fact reincarnate - and it is no more improbable that we have lived before than that we are here now - then it is fair to assume that the 'bleed throughs' are either memories that are very painful or ones that are very enjoyable. In little Cameron's case it does seem that two sets of memorries have become blended into one. As a child - and I suspect it is very common - I was aware of another time and place and other parents.

I think it was an amazing and beautiful story. Some things were hard to believe but all in all not totally unbelievable. People will call it what they want, but I think it is a beautiful mystery.
I believe the name Shane Robertson sounds like Sean Robertson in a scotish accent and so in my opinion the boy was right about the name. James can be Sean and Seamus (pronounced Shaymus). Whenever it be others or myself, the idea itself is there because there is a definite purpose to it. The question itself might lead to other questions or a straight answear to that question: yes or no, if there is a resonant existance of what we can call soul.
Where did this idea originate from? That's is another important question I believe.

The few I can think of are unimpressive e.g. Sam Parnia's experiment, which has not produced conclusive evidence (of NDEs in that case). 2) What would we do with such information if we found it? Take the case of this video: If evidence supporting reincarnation were provided, would it improve Cameron's present life any more than a naturalistic explanation?

It makes biological sense for us to imbue aspects of the world with agency, and in particular, the dualistic impulse I suspect originates from a natural logic: ["I don't know how or why this or that works like this - let's explain it in terms of a hidden 'thing' within it that does that job"]. A possible explanation is to view his past life memory as past life memories. Like acetates on an overhead projector placed one on top of another. The memories of one life merge with another. Or like in our dreams where we link people from one phase of our lives to places in another. What is certain is that the boy had too many vivid memories that matched perfectly with the island he lived on for it to be coincidence. Even the name Robertson matched.

This documentary was quite compelling and moving. I've watched several other documentaries on the subject of reincarnation, but not many people who claim to remember past lives were quite as remarkable as young Cameron. It was touching to see his reaction to the house he claimed to have lived in and quite obvious, whatever this past life thing is all about, that he was really remembering something personal to him, without prompting.

@Oreocremerocks If we do in fact reincarnate - and it is no more improbable that we have lived before than that we are here now - then it is fair to assume that the 'bleed throughs' are either memories that are very painful or ones that are very enjoyable. In little Cameron's case it does seem that two sets of memorries have become blended into one. As a child - and I suspect it is very common - I was aware of another time and place and other parents.

I think its a different reality. there are multiple layers of reality. We are not meant to remember, as we are meant to focus on one life at a time. The reason we dont remmber other lives, is becuase it requires so much energy to maintain the focus on each life. But sometimes, some people are born with the ability to see beyond the vale of the illusion of life. Get the book Seth Speaks from Amazon if your interested :-)

I believe the name Shane Robertson sounds like Sean Robertson in a scotish accent and so in my opinion the boy was right about the name. James can be Sean and Seamus (pronounced Shaymus). @frenchis19 i would dare say i don't have a religion it's not cause i don't believe in any god, it's just the fact that i think that i make my own descisions and also that i don't want to rely on it i think that whatever happens is due to my decisions that's how i understand and want to lead my life. Even though i don't have a religions i would still go around and understands the different religions around me and from what i understand about the different religions is that they all preached

@frenchis19 FYI my parents are proud of me i'm currently 20 and has been supporting myself for the past 4 years including my daily expenses and school fees and stuff i don't get asingle cent from them, apparently my family is poor and so but yeah that's not the point of this whole thing. @screenflicker1 I can clearly see your point. But the very idea of soul must have come originated from someplace. Whenever it be others or myself, the idea itself is there because there is a definite purpose to it. The question itself might lead to other questions or a straight answear to that question: yes or no, if there is a resonant existance of what we can call soul.
Where did this idea originate from? That's is another important question I believe.

@radiatr99 There are two core problems. 1) There are very few suggestions for testable hypotheses that would shed any light on such topics. The few I can think of are unimpressive e.g. Sam Parnia's experiment, which has not produced conclusive evidence (of NDEs in that case). 2) What would we do with such information if we found it? Take the case of this video: If evidence supporting reincarnation were provided, would it improve Cameron's present life any more than a naturalistic explanation?

@radiatr99 as for where the idea originated from - I don't think it is too hard to imagine why people came up with such concepts. It makes biological sense for us to imbue aspects of the world with agency, and in particular, the dualistic impulse I suspect originates from a natural logic: ["I don't know how or why this or that works like this - let's explain it in terms of a hidden 'thing' within it that does that job"]. Mythologization & personification are ancient impulses that remain potent.

@radiatr99 I should point out that I am not saying it is actually bad logic. Descartes used it. Scientists use it still. The difference between Descartes' argument, (which still is one of the most intuitive philosophical arguments ever), & scientific hypothesis, is that one of them provides a method for further understanding. [So there's some hidden thing 'x' inside y which explains z? Then how does x work, etc?] These discoveries may then also actually prove beneficial e.g. improved medicine.
