great band , did some wonderful tracks ... but did they do anything before the 'big' groups did it like some posters dare to suggest ? no. nothing the beatles, the who or even the beach boys hadnt done maybe a year before Tomorrow was even formed . they were perfectly on top of their time , rather than ahead of it. does it matter ? not at all, because their music will always entertain and perhaps inspire people for decades to come as long as there's someone who likes some silly 60s psychbeat
The album came out in 1968 actually. However, Steve Howe did a majestic 'fake' reverse guitar solo on Tomorrow's live version of Strawberry Fields Forever. Blew my mind when I saw them at Ally Pally and Christmas on Earth.
Ahh! I love it, but it's only 1:24. Where's the rest? Thanks for posting. Tomorrow was slated to perform in Blow Out, but The Yardbirds got the gig. (Tomorrow has 2 outtakes on the modern Blow Out soundtrack) Tomorrow DID perform on the 1967 film "Smashing Time" (1967) starring Lynn Redgrave. The appearance is simple, not spectacular. The film is on DVD.
wow i used to have the tommorrow lp before i sold it for a small fortune anyway of getting that live footage of them now?? steve howe was ahead of time .. the yobviously got ripped off by the beatles the back mastering and all that psych guitar of pepper this lp was out before srgnt pepper//a;spo hardly anyone remebers that the pretty things put out the first REAl concept lp before beatles and the who
Great footage ! thanks for posting. I have aseen live footage of them performing 'Three Jolly Little Dwarfs' from (I think) 14 Hour Technicolour Dream. It's much beefier (and better!) than the album version and ends with a great trippy raga guitar part - whoohh!
It was featured in a late '80s UK programme about youth cultures (Teddy Boys, Mods, Skinheads etc.)only a brief clip, but long enough to spot the band and track . I'll try and dig the title out for you.
This clip has the GTV station ID in the top right corner. That's a Dutch digital station called Geschiedenis Televisie (History Television). This came from a rerun of a show called "Hoepla!" of which only three shows were ever broadcast. The fourth was found in the archives and televized last year. "Hoepla"! was way ahead of its time: a nude girl on TV in 1967? Led to questions in parliament! Also lengthy interviews with people like Eric Clapton & Pete Townshend. So a real rock show , not pop.
They were a brilliant live act. There is a recording of their perfomance at 'Christmas on Earth Continued' released on CD. Quality is not very good but it doesn't matter to me as I was at the concert, 22nd December 1967. Perhaps that film clip is from there.
I have this track on Harvest Heritage, a compilation put out by Harvest about 30 years ago. Never seen them before though! Is this Steve Howe later of Yes?
Yes the name of the band is "Tommorow" and Steve Howe was in the band. I have this CD it has the original album plus several bonus tracks. The album didnt get recognized til after the summer of love when people were already getting into a heavier sound so it never really took off but i love it
Thanx, everything is right, that Christmas On Earth we hope to see one day, the Incredible Journey... and the Opera excerpts, as well as that Smashing Time, but is the first time I see them in motion! Die hard fan Shy Boy, thanx again
Regarding more footage there are pics from a TV show appearance where they did "The Incredible Journey Of Timothy Chase" you can see it on the CD reissue of Tomorrow's album from few years ago...no doubt something that will see here courtesy of beyondthebeat, right?
Great - is this live clip not from the Man Alive docu. What Is A Happening? about the 14 Hour Technicolour Dream, ah well it's from something like that...I'd love to see the film footage of Christmas On Earth, that really would be something else!!! Cheers and thanks again for posting... Lenny
Tomorrow were filmed @ the christmas on earth concert and also appear in the movie, Smashing time as the Snarks if I remember rightly...Thanks for posting this, great to see the footage of Indica !!!

Steve Howe is supposed to be a member of this group. If he is in this video, could someone please point him out?

It's always great to see any sort of footage from this near-mythical period of pop music! A little time travel can do wonders for the soul.

They had a non-performing cameo in the 1967 film "Smashing Time" which starred Rita Tushingham and Lynn Redgrave.
