I have port 80 forwarded to 8080. So when I type in the no-ip address into my url, it automatically adds the :8080 at the end of it.
Will my domain name do the same thing? (add 8080 at the end) because the reason I bought a domain was to avoid stupid subdomains, or additions to the URL.
I have to also use a different port. Are you sure there is no way to have my solid domain? ww.soliddomain.con ? No way at all around the :8080 port at the end?
I'm using a no-ip also, so to access my apache site, it's htp//no-ip.no-ip.com:8080/data.
There has GOT to be a way to just have a domain ww.soliddomain.con. Please help me with this.
thank you

Re: your comment at 3:25 - so if you use this method you have to have your whole site encased within an iframe?
Am I understanding correctly? Because that doesn't seem practical.

Correctly, and yes not pratical at all but some people are anal about no port no subdomains.

Nice video, but it's kind of annoying how you have the screen move with your cursor.

You need to at least buy a domain but the freedns site offers free subdomains.
