@FXhomeHitFilm :hey, im really likin this software and considering to purchase. u have a intel HD 3000 GPU with intel core i3 with 3GB of ram, wen i downloaded trial it said that my openGL is not compatible>>> ???????
Damn it why can't you guys create a program that can be used on any graphics card?! You just make it so hard for people! I have a fast processor and 4 GB ram but my graphics card doesn't have OpenGL, so what?! Here's a suggestion: Make the requirements less.
@CRYOmine The lowest spec card we support is 6 years old, dating from way back in 2006. You can pick up a compatible GPU these days from about $70. We're also currently in public beta on Intel HD 3000 support for people with i3, i5 and i7 laptops, so that'll be a big help for laptop users once that goes official.
As HitFilm uses the GPU, it will always require a compatible GPU - but it doesn't have to be a powerhouse.
@TheInfiniteBeast The city shot? That's from our new short film Extraction Protocol, which is being released tomorrow. We'll have lots of tutorials coming up for that in the next few weeks, including the city shot.
@Bikni221 The quality of a visual effect is more down to the skill of the visual effects artist than the tool. Both HitFilm and AE can produce absolute top quality results. Although you will need to buy extra plugins on top of AE's price to get some of HitFilm's functionality.
This is my own opinion. when i tried the demo, i was very dissapointed. the program was very buggy for me and hard to get a grip on. i couldnt figure out how to do anything on it. thats why im sticking with your old program "effects lab pro" that i am very satisified with. and sometimes, hitfilms would shut down randomly without warning. honestyl, i did expect better. im trying not to sound like a hater. but i guess this program is not for me
How is the occlusion accomplished, such as through seconds 9-15 or when one lightsaber is over another, or lightning should be behind a character? Is it as simple (and tedious) as rotoscoping a mask?
@DrJBN It depends entirely on the shot. In some cases it will be greenscreen, in other cases masking. The cityscape shot was a relatively simple matter of a luminance key on the original sky.
@FXhomeHitFilm Any future plans to add multicam editing? if so this program would be my best friend :D I use Avid Liquid, and Studio right now, and this seems to have all the features of each one, except that :D
@MRPictur3s It was actually a green screen shot where Jimmy Wong dropped on to a bunch of boxes covered in a green screen. It was shot at 60fps to make it look nice and smooth. :)
Yeah....I want this and am ready to buy the full version....but I am on a mac and no release for a mac yet....sigh....I know use bootcamp...but i don't have bootcamp...so i should buy a several hundred dollar microsoft os so i can run bootcamp and then pay several hundred dollars to buy hitfilm? no thanks...I will hold on to my money until they make a mac version. and if they don't....well i will continue to use what I have

What's better? After Effects or HitFilm?
Idc about user-friendliness or easy-to-use aspects, but more of which which one can get the best effect?

@FXhomeHitFilm is Hitfilm for mac please answer.
jumpmega3 5 months ago
@jumpmega3 HitFilm is PC only at present. It is unlikely to port anytime soon, but we keep an eye on the market and people's requests.

Too bad you don't make a mac version because I refuse to let Adobe rob me for after fx, they already got me for photoshop.
For now I'll just make due with combustion and motion.

that one shot round the 25-26 mark was it filmed in toronto or did he just put the CN tower in randomly?
Smoogle 5 months ago
@Smoogle unfortunately, we didn't get to go to Toronto, but we did use the tower image as part of our futuristic cityscape!
