My kid got cuffed for skipping school 3 days before the year was out. He had permission to miss school from me and he was cuffed and took a ride with the police for sluffing when he was "caught".
I didn't even care that the police did that. They were doing their job. He didn't do anything wrong and he didn't get in trouble.

They wouldn't be able to legally search his personals unless they thought there was something in them, meaning he probably had drugs. You can not be arrested for skipping schools but the area he was is was probably a private area, ie a school. During school hours he can not be on school property if he isn't attending, it is trespassing. Where is the parents, the parents should be charge with neglect. Sentenced should something like to moving a sand pile from one spot to another for sixteen hours, right along with the kid. The parents job is to make sure the kids are in school and learn to obey the law.

Okay, it's a crime but certainly not a violent one, or a felony. Either way, it can absolutely be handled differently. I hate the whole skateboarding scene. Consists of nothing but a bunch of punk ass teenagers with attitude and no respect for the police or the public. I guarantee that this kid will become a pot head in the next year or two and will start to experiment with LSD, and since this video is nearly 3 years old, he's probably into that shit right now. @wafflecushioned I don't know what skateboarders are like at home so I'm not going to say they're lazy, and I agree saying they're all on drugs is generalizing. Not all skateboarders are the same just as you can say in any sport.
One thing I do agree with is that all skateboarders like to loiter around public businesses and love to argue with security guards. I know from my own previous experience as a security guard.

I soon just quit skating altogether and got a new group of friends. I have concluded that I'm better off this way.

I mean, I agree that skateboarding in some particular areas is prohibited and violators should thus be prosecuted cos safe public areas, private property should be respected etc etc. But being arrested for skipping school is ridicoulous to me, thats a matter between school direction and parents. So i hope that the kids here r getting arrested for skateboarding only, but still handcuffs? Are they such a danger to the society?

@CthuluCthulian I was reading up on Truancy Laws here, and it happens more then I thought. I honestly think the Handcuffs are meant to Scare or Embaress the kid into not doing it again, but I don't agree with it.
The truth is any one can be a danger to society. You hear about 6 year olds shooting other kids in schools here all the time. It's not the "Wild West" here, but 15 years old is more then old enough to be a threat. Cops here can be arrogant and go to far, but they can't take a chance.

Skateboarding is not a crime and Loitering-Truancy are not serious crimes worth getting arrested for, but they probably were acting like smart ass kids that think the rules don't apply to them.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. It's just that We're not as Free as people think. We all have to obey the law.
