I think the condescending tone Gibson shows Palin stems from some of the previous answers Palin gave Gibson to questions such as the Bush Doctrine. Once she showed that she didn't know what it was, Gibson lost respect for her as a serious political candidate and treated her as though she didn't know what she was talking about with EVERY issue being discussed.

Why should I stop blaming muslims? They are causing all the world's terrorism. And the so-called good muslims sit on their thumbs and do nothing except what the Imam tells them to do. I'm not a fan of Israel either but if I had to choose, at least they don't go out and blow themselves up in restaurants and bars.

There is no such thing as a moderate muslim. They keep silent and follow their iman no matter if it makes sense or not. When they stop killing innocents and continue to argue against Israel, maybe. I don't see Israeli's planting bombs in restaurants or churches.

you can't even begin to compare the two interviews. the one with palin was clearly done to "get her" or "stump her," whereas this one was basic question and answer, and gibson did not belabor points like he did with Palin. The interview with Palin was not an interview--it was an inappropriate "test."

I think the condescending tone Gibson shows Palin stems from some of the previous answers Palin gave Gibson to questions such as the Bush Doctrine. Once she showed that she didn't know what it was, Gibson lost respect for her as a serious political candidate and treated her as though she didn't know what she was talking about with EVERY issue being discussed.

Actually Palin's description of the Bush doctrine was more accurate than Gibson's. Per Karl Rove, who ought to know, there were 4 phases of the so-called Bush Doctrine and Palin had it right and Gibson had it wrong. The media, as usual, doesn't know what it was talking about.

No, nodem2. Palin was unable to give any descriptio of the Bush doctrine when asked by Gibson. All she could say about it was that it was Bush's "world view". After that, she just spoke in generalities when she stated that "Bush tried to do whatever it took to defend against terror" as a dodge. She was unable to explain what the doctrine was or what it allows, that is why she was so flippant.

If you go back and re-read Palins answers, she was clearly feeling her way through Gibsons faulty premise to try to answer his question best she could but not because she knew any less about the Bush Doctrine than her interviewer. Her first instinct to maneuver Gibson into being more specific was perfectly understandable, and her first answer to his first attempt at clarifying his inscrutable question - his world view - was actually dead-on.

Charles Krauthammer said no such thing and I don't have to go back and read anything, I can obsorb things the first time. Obama knew what the Doctrine was because he had to set Clinton straight on what it intels during the Texas Primary debate. Of course McCain and Biden know what the doctrine was. It was Palin who had to show that she was up to speed and she wasn't during that interview. Coddle her all you want, but she bombed and it's nobody elses fault.

Krauthammer tried to come to Palin's rescue, Palin was not thinking the same thing as Krauthammer. If that was the case than Palin would have stated that there were multiple incarnations or the Bush Doctrine or she would have given one of those incarnations. Charlie Gibson is so damn liberal. I used to like ABC's Evening News, even with him on it, until he covered the '06 elections. When it was clear the Dems. would take over congress, Gibson couldn't help but have a shit-eating grin on his face. For a news reporter, who are supposed to be bias to politcal issues, he was awfully nice to Obama and really grilled Palin.
