Out of everyone I've seen on Youtube, you have the most EJ way of playing his songs. You use the same chord shapes, the same lateral scales rather than up and down scales and have the most, how can i put it, 'Eric' way of approaching his tunes. Theres some great players on youtube but for my money, you really have the strongest hold on his guitar style and I congratulate you sir, very very impressive.
I started trying to play this lick in 1979 the first time I saw Eric play. You are darn close! you have the same glitches I do running those double stops up the neck resolving into the F pentatonic...it's tough! You sound great though, what amp/effects are you using? Kudo's fellow EJ fan!!
Thanks. Eric is notorious for sacrificing ease of execution for better tone...that's why tab books are usually inaccurate. Watching him play is probably the best way to get a sense of his position shifts, accents and inflections.
What he's saying is that while the tabs will give a pretty close representation of how the song sounds, they won't necessarily be representative of how the song is played.
Tabs are usually written to show the easiest way to play a song, so in essence, you can learn how to play the song from tabs, but you won't be able to replicate the nuances of the technique, tone, etc. that way.
Anyway, your tone is spot on there SSVR, and good playing. Been trying to learn this. What equipment do you use?
