Hmmm, given a choice between being at Chicago or Slane, I personally would have chosen............................both! I was at Slane (both concerts) but I wouldn't have passed up an invitation to Chicago either - does that make me greedy?
Bono - Hurry up and heal your back. U.S.A. will miss U2. Paul McGuinness says that Bono is now strong, and that the european leg of the tour will start on time on August 6.
They never play these songs when I've seen them in concert. I would pay extra if they only played from Boy, October Sky, War and the Unforgettable Fire. Please come to Chicago and play these songs only.
i agree with jverstersky...., i hope they keep playing their "deep cuts", because they always send shivers down your spine, especially if u are 35 and over, and remember BOY, OCTOBER and WAR...... someone will see this who can get a message to the band, let them know their longtime fans really appreciate it when they play their early tunes, just amazing.,, thanks so much....
I have so much respect for these guys-- playing a deep cut like this 25 years after the fact.... I've got goosebumps just imagining being in that auditorium hearing that transition into "Into the Heart"
I miss my U2 Boy cassette tape which was lost... look at The Edge and Adam savoring the nice old refreshing tune.. what a great song from their first album : )
glad they pulled this one out, but bono sings it like hes going through the motions. compare this to a 1982-83 performance and you will see the diffrence...
Edge's backing vocals sound as good today as they did back in 1981. And his guitar sounds are just awsome. When Bono is sitting down and hits that high "into the heart"...total goose bumps. With all the crap music out there today, it's refreshing to see a great band continue to re-invent itself. Even after 30 years. I believe U2 is the most relevant rock & roll band EVER.
the big difference is that u2 are so great and no boring (they dont play the same tempo in their songs. no song sounds like other). Thats why they are great. Also these songs could have been written for nowadays too. they are so alive in time. the other band gad one or two or three great albums. of course they are great bands. but my friend every album of u2 is great. never forget that
The only differences I can see is our opinions. I don't think Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are boring, and their songs don't sounds like others. They have their own style. You can recognize an U2 song when you listen because of its style. The same goes for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd had 4 styles. Also, I don't think every album of U2 is great. There are great albums, but not every one. And Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin have more than 5 awesome albuns each one.
is it just me or did the kid's voice take Bono and everyone else by surprise? I still can't understand what his name is and I've seen it a bunch of times.
when i die i hope they play this at my funeral....They took me from no food to no mom and no one being there..They are my hero's..Thank you u2..I dont know where i would be without them..cbono69
Bono, Adam,Larry & edge are the best ones in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My idols, im a great fan, that kid dosent know who Bono is!!!!!! If I was that kid I´d be crying in tears and huging bono!!!! and singing into the heart!!!!

No es un mal concierto, pero creo que el del dvd Go home en Slane Casttle es mucho mejor, por lo menos para mí. Creo que es perfecto.

Not a bad gig, but I think the dvd Go home in Slane Casttle is much better, at least for me. I think it's perfect.

"I believe U2 is the most relevant rock & roll band EVER"
I wouldn't say the same. Old bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd invented rock and roll.
But, considering some new bands, yeah, U2 is one of the nicest...
