romans n greeks were impostors they learned everythin from the atlanteans(basques today) the etruscans(also atlanteans) schooled them..the ungrateful bastards made us think the atlanteans didnt even exist wtf..evil rats
Leave it up to an american to totally disrespect European culture. Guys like this should be sent back immediately with no chance of coming back again!
Bathing hear ceased in the 70's due to a death from meningitis. There is a particular strain that thrives in this environment, and it gets into your brain, not the nicest way to die.
@ViresVeneratio However, the states has far more because - if what I heard is true - only 12% voted for evolution to be taught in schools, with the rest opting for "intelligent design" or creationism. lol
That's not as funny as when my Dutch friend did a back flip off a canal bridge in Amsterdam and landed on a passing boat, on his feet. All the tourists were clapping their hands.
Jubilee! 10.000th watcher! I've been there 2 weeks ago. No one told me about infected water and meningitis. So, I put my hand into water. Still healthy.
YOU'RE MY HERO! Thaxs for this.I just wanted to do that so bad when I visited the baths 2 days ago but I didn't have the balls! I know about the bacteria in the water. They don't let you touch the water. I 've put my hand in and it was nice and warm. Still no meningitis at all :D People cheer up! They should treat the waters and allow baths time to time. That was what the pool was for! I won't recommed drinking the glass of water they give you after the visit. It's all smelly, warm and nasty.Yuck!
If someone jumped into that bath and got out. I bet water would evaporate but would leave behind the lead atoms all over your body and clothes. So you would need to take a very good bath in all the nooks and crannies of your body and your hair. Even so you would also need one to get the bacteria off your body.
Any body got a description of how that water got dirty and what bacteria is in it and also if there is any roman bacteria in it and/or dna how did bacteria survive so long
@stonersforum Its a green algae that is a modernish product of the baths now being open i.e. they thrive in the sunlight. Not an issue in the Roman world when it was all closed.
Gross!! So, the kid just did what the bath was built for.....bathing. It's not as though he set a national monument on fire. Relax people...I live in Orlando FL. Believe me, I see crazier shit than this from this from tourists on a daily basis.
@billycrna Actually it is a world protected UNESCO site not just a national monument. His actions were fantastically stupid for many reasons, 1 being swimming is prohibited due to a death in a nearby pool from amoebic meningitis. If he had contracted this here, this complex would be closed period and no-one would get to see the site anymore because someone was too stupid to not jump in an algae infested lead lined pool. The fact other Americans are even thicker is no consolation.
u spak y dont you go and lik ur own fadge coz seriously wtf is the point go back to america you fucking knob head i hope u was sick from that water dick ed!

The girl who died in1979 from meningitis after swallowing some water did not bathe in this bath
But at another bath a short distance from the main baths which is still closed to the public today
No one has bathed in the main baths for hundreds of years

Crazy Americans!!! I visited in 2000, and it was incredible. I hear the actor Nikclaus Cage has a home in Bath? Anyone know if this is true?
