  • looks like a rat! I seen something similar to that in a vacated house next to mines a last week. I was terrified because I taught it was a huge rat!

  • What a cutie, they're actually pretty clever critters for having a life expectancy around 2 years in the wild.

  • Good for you! I love possums!

  • @FruittisMaris - Thanks, I do too!

  • I was out in my garage soldering stained glass wen I heard a noise. I called out. It happened again. I called out. Nothing. Then, I heard a definite noise a few feet away. A little possum came right in the garage with me. I got out, managed to get back in and turn the lights off and unplug the soldering iron. Then I left the garage door open a crack and left bread outside to lure him out. The possum looked like a ferrett and had pointy eyes. It was not very scared of me.

  • @MsMichelleSchweiss - That's interesting, it was most likely looking for food and followed you in there!

  • @MsMichelleSchweiss I had opossums in my garage too, mom had her babies in there and they stuck around for a while. I feel so bad for them in the cold and they don't bother anyone so we let them stay. Don't worry they're not usually aggressive and rabies is actually very rare in them.

  • Im more than just a possum, hey hey hey

  • One of these got into my house last night...scared the shit outta me. Little bastard didn't wanna go back outside either.

  • @jerrygypsy26 - Heh... dogs'll definitely do that!

  • *Opossum

  • @Srahrah16 - That's why I have the apostrophe in the beginning - 'Possum = Opossum...

  • Really cute! They are on my fence every night just starring at my dog who is barking uncontrollable!

  • @futhanabuddah4444 - Hehe... as long as the dog doesn't get to it - :) I'm sure it would like to though!

  • @futhanabuddah4444 that just happend to my dogs yersterday( i was up at 3:00 am)

  • crazy owner and dog that kills a possum!

    watch?v=hxChdmrWHEk

    stop animal abusing

  • @liljames2k - Different kind of possum, but sad nonetheless - :(

  • WHAT DOES THE WORD (KINDA) MEAN IN AMERICAN

  • @MultiAussiebloke - What do you mean "American"? :) Kinda means "kind of", "she's kinda big" is "she's kind of big"... :)

  • @MultiAussiebloke Kind of.

  • found one in the back yard this morning while feeding my dog, it was dead i guess my dog got it, kinda sucks tough, my dog must've gotten pissed off cause he would never hurt anything.

  • @pvtjoker777 - That sucks - :( It probably just violated it's space - must have been really hungry to want to come up to a dog like that.

  • That Possum was fat =D

  • @pentigram - True... saw it on vacation, there must be other people feeding it.

  • This is Not an awesome possum, this possum is just above par at best

  • @Publictelevision10 - You may have a point there...... although "Sub-par Possum" just doesn't have the same ring to it... so I'm keeping it - :)

  • that possum is awesome!!!!1!!1!! LOL ROFL

  • We feed several of the possums every single night at our house. I would rather feed them and establish a safe zone. They get to know you if you sit still for a while and are not threatened by you. Really cool when that happens.

  • On a vacation, I watched a skunk like that - I just stood there and watched him, he couldn't have cared less that I was there - :) I wish we had them *here* though, that would be extremely cool...

  • lol me 2 idk y i wachted this video

  • Hehe... no one forced you to, y'know - :P

  • People think opossums are stupid, they are quite intelligent. I have rehabbed over 100 babies and have a few that I've released in my yard, they are amazing creatures.

  • I saw the video of the opossum scent-marking the pillow on your page - they're very interesting to watch! I wouldn't call them stupid, they're kind of dopey looking sometimes, but that's just how they are. The fact that they're marsupials and have a prehensile tail are things I doubt a lot of people know - they are definitely amazing creatures!

  • wat the hell is in that box

  • It's not a box, it's a bag - :) There are mostly pieces of bread in there, and one or two chicken bones (not a good idea to feed cooked bones to ANYTHING, but at the time I wasn't aware of that) - I was trying to see if a skunk would come by, but the 'possum beat the skunk to the food!

  • mmmmmmm ( un takuzin = Possum ) esta gordito bien sabroson para comerlo jajajaja hey porque no lo cazas y me lo vendes jajaja buen video...saludos desde boston...

  • Mmmm... thanks, but no eating - ;)

  • i hate those things,CREEPY.

  • They're a little bizarre looking, but they're not that bad... :)

  • Very cool! I am sure that you already checked the laws regarding feeding native wildlife, but will mention it to people watching these wonderful videos - make sure you know your local, state/province laws regarding feeding wildlife before you try this too.

  • I haven't checked every single byline thoroughly, but I don't know of any laws explicitly forbidding feeding animals in my area. I do know that you can't feed animals in state parks though, so I've never tried that (I wouldn't do anything illegal for footage - :))

If there is a specific law posted against feeding wildlife, definitely DON'T do it! I know New York has several laws like that, but I'm sure there are still people that feed them regardless.

  • I'm happy finding all this short movies about this lovely creatures and also happy finding people who really love and enjoy with this . Keep going .

  • Sure! I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the comment!

  • cute and smart i want one but i read thet they smell and have giant droppings

  • Hehe... not sure on that one, I suppose it depends on what they eat - :)

  • possoms r cute! i have never seen 1 thats alive only the stuffed animal my friend has. there mouth is shaped like a pigs. and it eats like one 2!

  • Kind of - their nose is kind of pig-like, but their mouth isn't really, they have HUGE jaws!

  • I think they are fantastic creatures! I saw one in my tree a few years ago, he was HUGE! He looked like an old grandpa.

  • Oh yeah?? Very cool! Hehe... old grandpa, huh? :) I've only ever seen one around here, and it wasn't very determined to do anything, mainly just sauntering through the yard... I have done feeder projects before (the bag and foam feeder that I do) and I've seen possums go crazy for that! I did one just a few days ago for the raccoons and a possum tried to take off with it - 4 times! :)

  • aRARRARARARARAARHAARARARRGAARGHAHRAAHRHRHARHRAHRAHRAHRAHRHAHRAHRAHRA

  • Mmmmmm-kay... ;)

  • taburineagle as a pet !!

  • Yes! :)

  • i got hungry watching this... jk

  • Ha! :)

  • man opossums are soo cute i love them i wish i find one!!

  • "find one" in the wild, or for a pet? I know they're around, but they're not everywhere... I don't have any where I live, I taped this video on vacation. As far as the other thing, I don't know anything about opossums as pets... :)

  • yeah i heard the story of possom kingdom in texas and those suckers can be pretty mean. u can google possom kingdom texas if u want 2 know the story of that place i dont want 2 spoil it.

  • Lol!! they look like giant rats !!! fraki!!! but they r kool! BTW this is the better quality video ive seen on utube!!!

  • I agree! It has really good sound!

  • Thanks for the video comment bredbrain, and thanks for the sound comment pterodactylmantis! The video is mixed from an upscaled HD video, and the sound is all captured on that little shotgun mic sitting next to the feeder project!

  • wow opossum is great and it cute

  • Thanks! It is - and very inquisitive!

  • possums are so freaky looking.

  • They are kind of strange looking - I think that's one of the things that make them interesting!

  • do you have a pet possume?

  • Nope! This was shot on vacation at someone's house - not a pet!

  • are u kiding!

  • opossums rock

  • They do!

  • This is so cool! I just went and looked at some of your other videos and I have to say that I'm really glad you uploaded them, it's easy enough to find nature and animal videos but not many are of such good quality.

  • Thank you! I definitely go all-out for video quality! I have some HD stuff on here as well, but YouTube doesn't really do HD that well. I also have an account on Veoh (just search for taburineagle), and they *do* allow HD stuff at a much better resolution, but I need to upload more on there - I only have a few (I think 9) videos on there.

  • This is so neat.

  • Thank you! And thanks for the subscription too! I have more to come, so keep looking!

  • Looked like he had powerful limbs when he was walking. Cool stuff.

  • Thanks! They have a very interesting way of walking - almost hobbling through the yard...

  • I still don't understand why he would wait until the end of the video to eat one of the larger pieces on top of the bag. I realize that it didn't know there was a video, But still. At first I though it was Styrofoam but then it ate it..

  • I don't either - maybe he just felt like ripping the feeder up first...? Ha! Nope - not styrofoam - bread... :)

  • Wow! what a cool and interestn' vid! Thanx for sharin'! Nature RULEZ!!!

  • Sure - thanks for the comment!

  • enjoyed it ! thanks

  • Sure! You're welcome!

  • when he eats it sounds like my last girl friend when she gobbled. what a little bugger! look at him gobble with his mouth open and hes got an ugly puss

  • Ha!! Did you ever tell her that she chewed like a possum? :) He is kind of bizarre looking, but I don't think he's *that* bad looking - he does chew kind of lazily though!

  • the way he roots around and stuffs food down his gullet it exactly how my girlfriend would eat!! i swear! and she would rustle things around just like that!

  • Ha! Nice! Maybe she *is* a possum - just in disguise! :)

  • Wow. I love that little guy. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • Isn't that cool?? You're welcome!

  • Hehe... "I am the Lord of the Possums! Kneel before me, o, marsupial bretheren!" :) They definitely got into it! I had a 'possum here once before, but it wasn't nearly as interested as these ones (and the ones last year weren't even interested in the scene at *all*!) I wonder if mics are an opossum delicacy...? :)

  • Now racoons they can be realy neet to watch and did you ever do any skunks?I would love to see that it would be intresting to see if the camera gets sprayed

lol:)I had a teacher long long time ago lol he had 2 skunks.

  • Oh yeah? That's cool! I don't have raccoons or skunks where I am (which drives me crazy! :), but I *have* taped skunks before - I have a video of one tearing up the Feeder Project (but the light turned out in the middle of it - I would have taped a *lot* more if that didn't happen!), and I have a video of 2 skunks fighting! Just search for "taburineagle skunk" on YouTube and you should find those!

  • thanks i am going to look for them

  • I don't realy like them but they are very cool to watch .

  • Eh, they're not that bad... I personally like raccoons more, but I don't have anything against opossums. They are interesting to watch though, like you said - especially when they waddle off!

  • My area often has possums, though reckless drivers often kill them. >:(

  • That sucks... I've seen a few dead ones around here too, but thankfully not that many lately!

  • persistent aren't they?

  • They definitely seem to be! I have a shot from later on (another day that I still have to edit... :)) where the opossum stands on the mic to get it's bearings! They're definitely interesting to watch!
