bruins were notorious for interfering by grabbing the opponents sweater.usually at the shoulder or punching elbow.look at the old tapes.i am sure they were not the only team.the older bruins have said it.they laugh about it now.i like bobby orr but that is how it was.
everytime a bruin fought there has alway a teammate grabbing the opponents jersey at the throwing shoulder.it happened all the time, not with just orr.
@kda5 Fred Stanfield was the culprit, clear as day. Yet the broadcasters dont say a thing. Quinn was a genuine bad ass. Orr was not! Does anybody remember what Orr and the Bruins did to Brian Conacher?
@57slingblade Yes I remember seeing the incident on an old game tape. Orr was a 19 year old kid who had been cheap shotted and jumped by Conacher earlier in the game, so later on, Johnny McKenzie and another Bruin held Conacher down while Orr pummeled him.
Then Ken Hodge beat the shit out of Conacher for good measure.
I guess if you jump a 19 year old superstar in the making, a tough team will hold you accountable!
THERE IS NOTHHHHHING SICKER THAN WATCHING A " Bahstin Ruin' " "WIN" a fight!!!!!!!! Fuck that team. From top to bottom, they have no class; starting from SINDEN on down. It goes A) The Islanders. B) The Phylers and C) the Ruins'. No class at all. Andddddd, racism IS PROMOTED BY THAT DRUNK ON TORONTO!!!!!!!!! Sick, sick PIG he is. He and that ugly DOG of his should be shipped BACK TO IRELAND where he can find others to hate... Someone should have concussed that DRUNK years ago...
Wasn't this the game with the infamous Forbes Kennedy brawl? If so Kennedy took on virtually the entire Bruins roster and the officials. I'd love to see the brawl in its entirety.
@leafyutube This above clip is from Feb 1, 1970, the year after Quinn hit Orr (April 2, 1969). Funny, Quinn hit Orr in a game a month before this (Jan 10, 1970) and Orr seemed okay with that. But I guess this was Bobby's way of saying, "Okay, the war, resumes!"
@Scoclamor Reportedly, WBZ-TV Boston (which now owns also WSBK Channel 38, which carried the 1969 playoff game in question locally in Boston) will not rebroadcast, nor allow anyone else to rebroadcast, the WSBK tape of the incident because it was extremely violent.
I did see it live, and Don Earle (then TV voice of the Bruins) compared the near-riot to the previous summer's Democratic convention ("You're Not Watching A Re-Run of Last August's Chicago Convention!")
@LowellDevil Forbes didnt take on anyone, he actually fought with Gerry Cheevers and Cheevers kicked his ass!!! FORBES KENNEDY??? he couldnt even beat up Gary Doak!
@nahpoli And I agree Forbes Kennedy couldn't punch his way through wet toilet paper, even when he fought Gary Doak who was a pretty bad fighter himself.
How SWEET IT IS!!!!!!

Much easier to win a fight when someone is grabbing your opponent's jersey from behind. Decision: Quinn

Somebody has to have that game, or at least that whole brawl in it's entirety! If someone does, please post it.

@nahpoli The fight shown here was a CBS game that was from Feb. 1, 1970 that leafytube is referring to. This led to a bench-clearing brawl.
