Now that's a great arrangement. Personally I think the tone of the keyboard is a bit weak at the start with that spitting trumpet sound. There must have been a better sound available than that. Actually a theatre pipe organ or a virtual version of the same could have been used and would have handled all that was required here. Apart from that, an excellent version of the piece which I enjoyed very much.
I bet nobody thought they'd ever hear than Moog lead sound again in 2005, spooking 'em from 1975. I've got that too in the other room. But I can live without it this time round. Moog pretending to be brass? I don't think so. But then - playing Copland on a Moog was groundbreaking stuff.
Does anyone know who the LEAD Guitarist is ?...almost looks like my first guitar player I ever played live Gigs with,Chris Adamson... who later played for Survivor, not sure were he is today,
Great piece of prog rock but hate the sound of the synth at the start, sounds really cheesy and restricted. You need that sense of echo and space and that lovely warm analogue sound. Modern synths cant really cut it with this piece of music.
EXTREMELY COOL! Very well done, professional performance. Much better than the Asia version of the same. Although Greg didn't have much to do on this one.
I think back in the early 1940's Aaron Copland had a few original working titles for this piece, including "Fanfare for Paratroopers" and "Fanfare for Soldiers."
KOLOZSVAR.. and old`est but young...25 year studio...and this song...HELLO...is you step in 2 feet ...DANCING and don`t foregeth your soul ...take care
Wow! I just got a new impression of how brilliant ELP's gift to music was! Bringing these amazing composers, of so called "serious" music, to the awareness of a lot of teens and twenties who might never never have heard of, let alone appreciated their music.
They are one of my (slightly guilty) pleasures since my teens. Love that classic prog rock. Genesis and Yes as well!
Blown away hearing this song again! Thank you.

OK once it gets going, but you have to get past the "someone-spitting-through-a-kazoo" at the start.

This piece of music will be played forever,or as far as mankind will exist and should be put in a time capsule just in case we don't make it.

I haven't heard this for 30 years, and it's still AMAZING. I was inspired by last night's Proms on the BBC of Pictures at an Exhibition.

The Moog solo sounded more Tony Carey (Rainbow Rising) than Emerson...I'm liking this a lot.

Nice! I bet it'd be even cooler to do a mix with a real brass quartet playing the borrowed parts from Copeland's original.
