for crying out loud, it says COSTUME in the first sentence and mentions there being someone inside it twice more in the wikipedia article. there's zero mention of motion capture ANYWHERE. and if they did use motion capture, it wouldn't meet the definition of a true robot, it would be nothing more than a high-tech puppet. if you're going to argue about robots, at least take five seconds to learn the definition of ROBOT!

Even though I was not there, I can tell many things that can prove human inside. The height of the robot: there is no reason to build a thing to higher than normal human height because it is not easy to keep the balance. The arms attached to the lower part of body, not the shoulders. The original movement of arms come from the lower parts. Tinned window on chest for human view. For now, we don't have the technology to make robot that fast like this.

Let's not forget that an athlete running at full speed consumes less that 500watts. Also the height of the robot is irrelevant as long as the proportion of the body remains the same. If we get a 10foot robot and a 20foot robot that are completelly identical except from the height their balance and center of gravity should be the same

All what I want to say is do not believe what you see on Youtube. Start thinking "How do they do?". Science helps those who help themselves.

Nope....try Wikipedia, There is a person inside. They are looking through the mirror plate on the chest. If you look close you can see the sleeves where the performers arms go out to the forearms. They don't connect to the costumes shoulders. I had been convinced that it was a real robot too. I also noticed that the shrouded pivot points in the legs were meant to mask human form.

Your talking about an exoskeleton suit like the one in Aliens 2 or seen in Avatar. Their intention with this show was not to show off something like that. Robots are fully automated, this is not even a drone. Drones are remotely controlled.. If you pay close attention to it's chest (view port) and its movements(non robotic). You wanna see a real robot, search for PETMAN Prototype" in youtube.

I think controlled would be harder. It would be difficult to perfect THAT many inputs to any kind of system. This robot has a pretty good AI compared to recent others. Still just performs it's program but I think it accounts for spatial orientation and probably locates faces.
