  • I would rather use printers that are using ribbons than ink jets. If I would buy myself a printer, it would be the dot matrix. Their ribbon is less than ink jet cartridges. Here in my country, the government does use ribbons like dot matrix and typewriters.

Thermal printers does not use ink at all but their paper is also expensive! It's a heat sensitive paper, not those papers you see everyday. The papers used in some receipt printers which are silent in printing and faster.

  • Wow!!! Really makes you think.

  • i guess the prices are ink-reasing

  • The song is Sentimental Journey

  • Be nature friendly and use a laser jet - they are an order cheaper and faster...

  • hp tiene dos características.

    1. La tinta mas cara del mundo

    2. en el tarrito mas chiquito del mundo.

  • I just buy refill kits at the "99¢ Only" store. Sure they only have black ink, but I don't really have to have color. I did get lucky at a thrift store once though, and bought a bunch of old brand new cartridges for a dollar each. I have an old Canon printer. I have an old printer for this reason. Oh, and plus, the cartridges don't have any chip on them to reset.

  • "You have a choice."

Correct. The alternate choice for ink is toner.

Ink jet printers suck. USE LASER.

  • In all reality...STOP buying the cheap printers!!! This is the truth. Stop looking at "current, out of the pocket" spending and see the BIG picture....the Total Cost of Ownership!...Read this article...I work in this industry, so I know this to be a fact....blog.printer.com/2009/02/printercom-study-shows-more-expensive-printers-have-lower-ownership-costs/

  • buy printer

    take ink out

    go back to store

    ??????

    profit.

  • Ha, I hate buying ink

  • Next time you buy a printer check whether there are CISS systems for your printer or refillable cartridges. This will save you thousands. CISS systems are a bit harder install (not hard at all but harder than a cartridge) but they hold as much ink as about 200 cartridges. Refilling is easy - open a bottle of ink and pour it into the reservoir.

Refillable cartridges are cartridges which you refill with a syringe. Most don't even require to take them out of the printer. Really need and easy.

  • I am sick of stupid people - sheep. That's an old system - they sell you a product at almost no profit and then make massive amounts on consumables. The ink in a cartridge costs pennies. And yes they sell for almost as much as a new printer. Next time get a refillable printer/cartriidge and make sure you return the one that's not refillable so that the shop can stop buying them from the manufacturer.

  • Were i live its actually cheaper to buy another Printer then a refill "NO IM FUCKING SERIOUSE,WHEN YOU BUY THE PRINTER THE FIRST INK IS FREE BUT IT COSTS ONLY 5$ MORWE FOR THE ENTIRE FUCKING PRINTER" GO FIGURE LOL

  • I've stopped purchasing ink and toner cartridges a couple years ago. There's this wonderful place called eBay where you can get refill kits for dirt cheap compared to the cost of new cartridges or commercial refilling services.

Printer manufacturers keep claiming you'll wreck your printer if you attempt to refill, well, that's a load of BS!

  • It's cheaper to buy a new printer than it is to buy new ink. I buy a printer, use it til it's out of ink, throw it in the dumpster then go buy a new one. Might be a waste of electronics but certainly cheaper than buying ink lol

  • HAHA, are you serious?

    where r u from?

im from Birmingham UK and i swear inks not that much here

  • Sorry to say they actually more cost more in the UK!! A current HP six colour printer's inks works out at around £2000 per litre (that's $3500 to you over the pond!)

    ...nice video!!....

And for netrunner - moe often than not the inks with printers are only part filled cartridges to get you started.... sad but true.

  • I am happy to work with ink jet printers.

(I am student, who likes to economy some $), and they are cheap to use, because i can refill ink muself,

1 black ink cartridge refill cost for me 1 $ !!!

Yes, this kind of printer is slow, bot it works well or me 4 years, and i dont print much (not more than 250 pages per month)

    I have old Canon SmartBase MP360 printer/scanner.

What you can say for experience to refill ink cartriges, how much it cost for you ?

  • This video says what's really going on with the ink cartridges rip off. I remember , I had a printer (Epson), ten years ago, and it used only ONE cartridge of black ink to print out 70 sheets of paper (both sides). With my new printer (another Epson) I can get about 15 sheets of printing...one side only... If I'm Lucky!!!!

  • Ink Jet is the biggest scam going. They dry up and aren't worth shit. GARBAGE!

  • this is bullshit, ink carts i mean b/c they are smaller and dont last as long yet cost twice as much, i have a canon MP470 and this thing seems to run out of ink too much and it costs me 50 bux to replace it if this gets any worse im gonna eiter sell this thing or hack it if i find a printer that has dirt cheap ink ill get it, i saw one on TV by kodak and the ink costs like maybe 10 bux a cart i think, but i dunno if it has a scanner

  • The carts usually dry up before you can use it all. They should bring back dot matrix printers. That's how shitty ink jets are. At least dot matrix printers didn't dry up on you even if you didn't print for months.

  • haha this is a great way to spread the truth

  • whats the name of the song

  • Sentimental Journey

  • I think it's by "Esquivel".

  • I love these guys. They have saved me a lot of money and they are very customer oriented which is rare these days. This was a real eyeopener of a video. Good Job!

  • Holy Cow! ...and I was complaining about $3 gas! I calculated the ink cost on those HPs that only have 5ml of ink at about $10,000 a gallon! Good thing I've been refilling my own cartridges...for about 25¢ each!

  • Very good information and I've use them for all my printing needs after a friend recommended them. I use a lot of ink in printing out photos to paint for my art. nancystandleedotblogspotdotcom

  • WOW - everyone should see this and check your prices. I haven't bought name brand carts for my Epson for a long time and have ordered from ASAP with great results! See my videos on youtube -onedelicousmac
