  • Hi, Thank you for this video. I'm in MA, can I make flush cuts. Do you use sealer? I have 2 trees that are 3 years old. Can you prune in the spring as long as the buds haven't broken yet? My tree is about the size of that cherry tree. Do you top off the tree to limit the height? Sorry for all the questions. I guess you can't just plant and forget cherry trees. So I'll try to prune 1/5 and stub to upright buds. I really don't know what the root stock, the are semi dwarf.

    Thank you

  • Can you give your experience on infections called blast in these trees we in NZ are getting a lot of lost crop even in 5 year old trees any ideas here? Email graeme@GMDESIGNS.co.nz

  • I apreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge.

I have seen cherry trees pruned during the winter, but I have read that pruning them when they're dormant increases the chance of infection, as the tree is helpless during this stage.

Could this be a question of different climates (I'm in Portugal, Europe) requiring different pruning seasons?
