  • 0:44= Tim Thomas, lol

  • This kid is realli good =] the stick must be realli heavy for him

  • the split recovery is cool but it is slower than a normal one so i recommend the normal so your back on your feet quicker

  • He needs to hold the stick stronger (witch is what this drill is for I think)... but, he is very flexible and looks like he has potential considering to this being his first goalie school.

BTW, I have heard of "Between the pipes goalie clinics" and was wondering where it was.. I am 11 years old and am looking into strengthening some of my Goaltending skills for the next season so, please respond. . Nice video and tell your little friend there to keep going at the beautiful sport! :) THANK YOU!!

  • @totalwarruler

Between The Pipes is based in Michigan. They have a website which is listed in the title of the video.

    Hope that helps.

  • @bigbrillohead Yes that is one state over soo that is probibly why i have heard of it. I thank you for helping me. I bid you adu. :)

  • @totalwarruler the kid is also like 7

  • @totalwarruler

Do you live in Canada or U.S.A.? Because I've been a student of ''Between the Pipes Goalie School'' for 2 years now, In Canada It's in Ontario. I don't know if it's anywhere else in Canada. In U.S.A. it's in Michigan and I don't know if it's anywhere else. hope this helps.

  • should position his blocker a little more on the side so ir doesnt cover up the pad

  • lolol

  • good job ....... keep your glove open

  • @AtomicDonut221 there was no need to....it was a deflection drill with your STICK

  • haha at 0:47 the kid does the splits

  • id get him a smaller paddle or just cut some off tht one i do tht cause i got small hands

  • At the time of the video, he was 7yo and attending his first-ever goalie camp.

  • I was waiting for a glove save =P. Otherwise he is very good for his age.

  • hahaha wow next nabakov for sure

  • im a goalie and i cant even do the split. awsome job kid

  • me tooo =P

  • i am a goalie and i can do the splits but it takes time to get them right just remember over time not over night

  • Well done kid! nice move at 0:45!

    keep it up!

  • how old r u.......good job little dude remember to cover your 5 hole.......keep it up

  • 0:48 look at the kid when he gets up!!

I think he is doing good for a 7 years old keep it up!

  • That kid has a great goalie futre

  • great!

  • nice job. at 0:45 you kinda fell then you went into the splits lol nice job (no sarcasm intended)

  • awesome job!

  • he's good

  • 0:45

  • omfg nice job the kids prettyy good

  • no duh he's wearing a player helmet, most kids who are under 10 and are goalies use player helmets.

Between the Pipes came to Frasier today i was watching it for a little bit, ofcourse i couldn't watch it all though because i had hockey practice

  • good goalie

  • i think he is pretty good!

  • He's not supposed to go down -- if you read the "more info" description, the purpose of this drill was to work on redirecting to the corners, rather than having the rebounds shoot forward or just smothering the puck.

Later in the drill, when he's in a butterfly position, he still isn't using his pads to block or his glove to smother -- he's still deflecting the puck into the corners, because that was the purpose of this particular drill.

See my other videos if you want to see him go down.

  • well he can redirect with his pads but for his first ever goalie camp really good.

  • his pads are to big they look like 25-26 maybe he looks like he is nov or ip age would move better in 23s

  • Newsflash -- he is wearing Reebok 23-inch pads.

  • He wear player helmet !

  • So. A lot of great goalies did. Hasek, Osgood, etc.

  • man, hes good for how young he is. but at the begging of the vid all you used was your stick. you should have gone into butterfly. and also when you were in butterfly dont always knock the puck away with your stick. try to cover it.

  • Read the description.

  • try to keep ur stick down bud other than that ur are an pretty awesome young goalie

  • The stick looked too heavy for him, huh? Also, loved that reaction at 1:32. Immediately looked behind to check on how the puck deflected and swat it away if necessary. This was last year,he should be 8 now...ten more years til the draft!

  • good job kid(im 10 and when i was 7 i no i could not have scored)My dads says the same thing as u guys school comes first and i have to get good grades!hope i see u in the hockey carrer.o by the way be carefull of the rebounds other than that u have a good hockey star!ive only played goalie twice and i no its hard to save 4omph shoots(squirt).i play center and i no its hard to let in alot ive scored 13 goals in a 17-1 game so tell him not to get dicuriged and to always do hes best grats!

  • heyim 12 and im a pewee 2nd year and im in 4 all star teams not to mention the offers i got but hey if i were you you should stay with goalie because it is way funner with slapshots in pewees so just stay strong in the net ok

  • i can do buterfly and buterfly slide when i was 8 XD i can to a splits too XD without doimg yoga or any stretching or anything too(im 11 so ya)

  • samehere XD but i was 5 and i started goalie with butterflies and that stuff

  • OK, so show in a video the full splits if you can ;)

  • that is just cute

  • There are alot of haters around here lol... and he's only 7... Honnestly, I'm a goalie and I wish I could have been pushed like that when I was young. Hockey camps and a father caring for my performances. He is a good goalie. Nevertheless, as a father, just make sure that kid loves the game every single time he hits the ice and make sure to raise him first to be a good man, not a hockey guy ;)

Good luck to both of you!

  • Thanks! For the record, *he* is the one who wants to be a goalie, not the parents. We let him choose if he wants to go to a camp, if he wants to go to drop-in, or if he wants to try out for a particular team.

And he knows that school comes first. He does his homework in the car on the way to/from hockey practice, and he knows that if his grades fall, hockey is the first thing he'll lose. (he's getting all A's)

    He simply loves hockey.

  • youre showing off and you can go down and direct pucks in the corner at the same time

  • Obviously you felt like showing off your complete lack of reading comprehension.

This is a drill at a goalie camp, where the instructor told him what move he should or shouldn't perform -- this is not just a "do your own thing" situation.

Yes, he CAN go down and also direct pucks to the corners. However, that's not the drill that was being done at this particular station at this particular goalie camp.

  • he should get a smaller stick:P NICE

  • hes pretty good for his first time

  • ya he is very flexable but does he have enough leg strenth to do butterfly and buterfly slide wit out getting to tired .... i konw that he is 7

  • i can block all of them

  • wow hes good

  • Dude try goin down some more when the puck is coming right at you low.

  • Dude -- try READING!!!

He's not supposed to butterfly in this drill -- if you read the "more info" description, the purpose of this drill was to work on redirecting to the corners, rather than having the rebounds shoot forward into the slot (danger zone) or smothering the puck.

Later in the drill, when he's in a butterfly position, he still isn't using his pads to block or his glove to smother -- he's still deflecting the puck into the corners, just like he was told to.

  • relax he's what, like 8? nobody has much talent at this age level, and just to let you know, when children are that young theyve got hyperflexible joints and stuff, i'd be concerned if he couldnt do a full split

  • Flexibility and hypermobile joints seem to be more about genetics than age, I'm finding.

He's in a goalie camp right now, and he's the only kid in his entire age group that can do a full split (and that group includes an 8yo girl).

We weren't aware of how unusual his flexibility was until other goalies started commenting on it. He certainly doesn't do yoga or any stretching or anything -- it just comes naturally for him.

  • seems funny, when i was that age, which wasnt oo long ago, everybody can do it. but encourage him to keep doing it, it'll come in handy when he's older

  • why doesn't he go down?

  • He's not supposed to go down -- if you read the "more info" description, the purpose of this drill was to work on redirecting to the corners, rather than having the rebounds shoot forward into the slot (danger zone) or smothering the puck.

Later in the drill, when he's in a butterfly position, he still isn't using his pads to block or his glove to smother -- he's still deflecting the puck into the corners.

  • adorable :)

    i love little goalies!

he should be moving towards the puck though... not just poking his stick at it

-great at deflecting the puck into the corners with stick

    - might want a smaller glove... unless he has a massive left hand
