This looked really good. Although in my experience, Wagyu-only burgers can have a strange mushy texture due to their extremely high fat content. My favorite upscale burgers are made from aged beef, from cuts like short rib, chuck, flank, and rib-eye. Brioche buns are often cloying sweet for burgers, and it takes a skilled Chef to work with his baker to get the best bun possible. All that said, taste is a personal thing, so if it tastes good to you, then get it on!
Nice! Horseradish with ground black truffle, chipolte ketchup, and champagne infused mustard... what a trio!!!! Looked like the cobe burger didnt shrink too much either. Looked real good bro!!!
@ItsGoodCookin Thank you. These Kobe burgers come pre-formed which is something I avoid (with regular beef). I actually bought four patties with intentions of re-forming two bigger ones. I decided not to at the last minute. The burgers don't look very big on the video, but it was plenty of food.
@jmorr81 Thanks for watching. I mixed up the condiments myself. Basically, I added some chipotle to catsup, some champagne to the mustard and the ground black truffle to the horseradish. I guess you could say, I kicked up store bought condiments.
@sd4547 That's not bad, I'd pay $9 for a kobe burger. Wish I could find it locally here in TX. BTW after watching this I had to make burgers tonight, not as good as your's but they were good. I made a spicy jalapeno mustard using chopped jalapenos and Nathan's spice brown mustard and used slices of monterey jack cheese.
@tdjtx That sounds really good. Monterey jack is one of my all time favorite cheeses. Yeah, this was fairly painless on the wallet. It's going to be hard to buy regular beef hamburger after this.
@23mrcowboys I get my Kobe burgers from a local shop, but there are plenty of ranches online that sell Kobe. One that I use for steaks and brisket is Snake River Farms.
@23mrcowboys Yes. Unless you live near one of the wagyu ranches, even the butcher stores will be selling it frozen. It's too expensive to risk not selling it. They send it in a styrofoam cooler packed in dry ice and the meat will be vacuum sealed.

@thePowerPlant Thanks for the info. These buns were focaccia, not brioche. I agree that brioche would be a tad on the sweet side.

@TangoSpiceCompany Thank you. That American Kobe is tasty and the hamburger really isn't that expensive... Compared to the steaks at least.

That's a burger fit for a king! What would you estimate the cost to be?
tdjtx 9 months ago
@tdjtx I'm guessing each burger cost me 7-9 bucks. Not too bad... The kobe hamburger was about $9.00 a pound and each burger weighed 1/2 pound.
