Actually, he DOES have one. See that giant cymbal to his right? Actually a hi hat with a chord that connects to the foot pedal all the way to his left foot. I think he just likes them big ol' cymbals. They definitely sound great.

These guys remind mre a lot of Polvo especially at 1:07 where they transition from that minor chord pounding to a beatuiful droning pattern. Regardless of Polvo's underappreciated-ness (and I don't mean commercially, I mean even within the crate-digging indie community), DEERHOOF is kickass

oh my god! I was actually thinking the exact same thing, the vocals are a huge difference. I like the disonant technicality that Deerhoof brings, it's like a more evolved Polvo in ways. Though Polvo pretty much are at their artistic 'peak' all the time it seems. Time to go listen to Exploded Drawing.
