Should I bother playing this, since I want to play the pc version as well? I've heard the plot is different. I'm just afraid that the ps2 version won't be worth my time, or that it would be too similar to the pc version I want to play, so then the pc version would bore me...

I played this for the original xbox and really like it. Not as much as chaos theory but it was still pretty good.
I'm finally playing the 360 version and I have to say so far I'm let down. The levels are not nearly as intricate as the older ones, the new colour stealth meter is frustrating, and the little "extras" like playing around while skydiving or keeping the helicopter from landing is unessesary and not fun.
Ubisoft montreal know what they're doing the others don't imo.

ps2 was basically a copy of chaos theory which made it broing. 360 was action packed. the africa mission on ps2 was not fun at all. on 360 u was out during the war

Trust me no it wasnt. The ps2 version was made by ubisoft montreal, and the pc/360/ps3 versions were made by ubisoft shanghai. There is no such thing as ubisoft romania. Check the credits in the ending and you will see for yourself.

I think what people are trying to say is to go with the xbox 360 version of the game or the ps3 (they're both the same). Comparing the ps2 version to the xbox 360 version and the ps3, the xbox 360/ps3 version takes it. I think this is the best Splinter Cell, chaos theory was great, but not as good as this, I have it for Ps2 and PS3, PS2, I like it cus its more dark and sneakiness, the PS3 version is different and new so thats why i like that, both version rock!!
I was pretty dissapointed with the 360/PS3's coop mode, it was just taked on pseudo-missions on the multiplayer maps, nowhere near as good as Chaos Theory's.
yeah, the PS2 version is awesome. until I bought the PS3 version, it was ridiculously amazing. and they're both very different games(different levels, characters, storytelling). Pandora Tomorrow is still my favorite SC.
i belive Chaos Theory is beter than DA on the ps2 because of the fact that it was not as polish and did not add any major changes to the gameplay as the other ones did

This game in the PS2 SUCKS! Loading galore... so much of it. But the real reason I hate it in the ps2 is that it has some much glitches where the other previous games didn't. 1. Door glitch. Door won't close in the last mission. 2. Can have a corner shot. Meaning, if you lure a soldier towards you and you wont to get the soldier before he sees you, all you'll end up shooting is the invisible wall that protects the enemy, but not you.

yeah, the PS2 version is awesome. until I bought the PS3 version, it was ridiculously amazing. and they're both very different games(different levels, characters, storytelling). Pandora Tomorrow is still my favorite SC.

i belive Chaos Theory is beter than DA on the ps2 because of the fact that it was not as polish and did not add any major changes to the gameplay as the other ones did

This game in the PS2 SUCKS! Loading galore... so much of it. But the real reason I hate it in the ps2 is that it has some much glitches where the other previous games didn't. 1. Door glitch. Door won't close in the last mission. 2. Can have a corner shot. Meaning, if you lure a soldier towards you and you wont to get the soldier before he sees you, all you'll end up shooting is the invisible wall that protects the enemy, but not you.
