Thanks. One question I can't find an answer to anywhere, can it record (as well and start/stop recording) with the screen closed? And can it power on/off with the screen closed? The Canon FS200 can do this, and I need those functions. Cheers.

@DarriliusMaximus Not sure if it helps but it seems to carry on recording after the screen is closed (thought it auto paused!) - won't 'start' recording with the screen closed though.

Hi i have this camera and you cannot record with the screen close as this turns off the camera or puts it in standby depending on the settings you choose. The power on and off button is located on the camera behind the screen so you cant access this without the screen open. I have played with many camera's and this is the best one imo. I did like the Sony's as a close second but Cannon are only best for Digi Cams, not camcorders.

@Coops025 Thanks for the explanation. Recording with the screen closed is very useful when mounting the cam on a bike, car etc. Slackbladder69 said that is can continue recording with the screen closed, but I guess you have to open the screen then to stop/restart recording. Will give it some further thought....

i love this camera, i do skateboarding so i need some info on fish eye lenses, I'm after a cheap clip on one or screw for up to £50. jessops store told me about lens baby but i don't know what there like and do they view like fish eye? thanks if u can help.

I just bought this sd90. it looks great on the camera - but after I have edited it in Pinnacle 12 - it doesn't look anywhere near as sharp as this vid on YouTube. Can anybody help?

Anyone know where to buy a step up ring that fits so you can put an UV filter on for protection?

It has a 41,5 mm thread and i can't seem to find any step up rings that fits panasonic sd 90.

Has Panasonic really produced a camcorder that you can't put a standard UV filter on?

what about the depth of field / iris control? That is very important for creative work. Also you could kindly test the lens quality against direct sun or bright lights etc.

Are you sure that 1080p50 is recorded in MP4 container? Also, you did not say anything about iFrame, though it is shown in the menu. Have you confused iFrame, which is 540p25, with 1080p50?
