  • jeez...is there nothing this girl can't do!!!

  • this is my great aunt!!!!!!

  • whats this film called again? i was just thinking of this movie....

  • @zeUbermensch It's called Gun For Hire.

  • o hell yea freak

  • Nancy Walker does a super quick impersonation of Veronica in the MGM movie Best Foot Forward when she sings, 'The Three B's" aka The Barrel House, the Boogie Woogie and the Blues. Walker covers her eye ala Peek-a-boo. Superhartline.

  • There's actually just as much, maybe even more talent and beauty these days. People just don't wanna see it until it's not there to have anymore. Quit chasing ghosts.

Not that Veronica wasn't beautiful. She was a drop dead f****n gorgeous babe..

  • @trypticon101 absolutely impossible "more talent and beauty".there is talent and beauty nowadays but not like this. girls need to be half-naked all the time and boys to have a hot body to be considered beautiful and hot. at this time, it was better. and i prefer chase ghosts like veronica or marilyn monroe and marlon brando than britney, lady gaga or brad pitt.

  • she is so funny....

  • Let's hear it for the monkey at the end.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOW!

  • Beautiful, pretty, gorgeous Veronica Lake for ever.

  • Where did she hide that cigar?

  • 4'-11", blonde and beautiful. Why can't Hollywood find talent and beauty like this anymore? Veronica Lake, you are indeed timeleless. Thanks for posting.

  • cool

  • wait! what about the mans watch?!?!

  • @littleXmizzXsunshine lol, those little big details... they always get unnoticed by show business :(

  • it's all because of the hair.

  • Have you seen this video called " Gene Kelly\Cid|Charisse Opening A Colorful show" from Breton2Robert. WOW and the ending is crazy

  • Thanks for posting Veronica Lake. She is just GREAT. Good video quality here.

  • Magic :)

  • I guess this clip proves that Veronica Lake brought her own special "magic" to the screen.

  • I love her, but if any woman ever took my watch and made it disappear, oh man.

  • that classic bird face beauty

  • wonderful! i love the breaking glass walk away moment lol!

  • that dress was designed by Edith Head, a magician in her own right.

most probably schizophrenic but Veronica was a knockout.

  • Oh, that hand...I love Old Hollywood actresses' hands and nails.

And Ms. Lake's peek-a-boo hair was just adorable

  • Wow...Veronica is captivating. That's what I call screen presence!

  • sad to hear how her life ended! She's fab! The real Jessica Rabbit! :)

  • I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please view my clip of some rare 1930's movie star cards, including Veronica Lake , Judy Garland, Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn,

Ronald Regan, Lauren Bacall, Bing Crosby and many more.

  • Great movie (This Gun for Hire); great scene.

    Veronica's entrance in Film-Noir.

  • Besides this scene, does Miss Lake perform any other magic tricks in this movie, or any other movies, for that matter?

  • In this movie, none. I'm not sure about her other work. Perhaps as a witch in the film, I Married A Witch. Some clips are posted on yt.

  • @daveholm Oddly enough, she didn't do any magic tricks like this in I Married A Witch.

  • @TheMatrix72370

    Check out:

Veronica Lake - I Got You Right Where I Wanted

It is the second "production number" in this film, THIS GUN FOR HIRE. Effective, but Now You See It is my personal favorite.

  • @Fiftiesflashback OK. What magic does she do during that scene? DaveHolm said in an earlier comment that she didn't do any other magic in this movie besides this scene. Are there clips of it available on YouTube?

  • @TheMatrix72370 ... this is it ... cut and paste:

Veronica Lake - I Got You Right Where I Wanted

  • @Fiftiesflashback Thank you. I commented on the video. Check it out. Do you know if Angie Dickinson's card trick scene in Rio Bravo is on YouTube?
