I just purchased this pedal a few days ago... and I WAS JUST AMAZED how it gave fullness and fatness to my sound. I use this with my Fender American Strat last to my chain, before amp and after all my effects. Before this, I was using an MXR Micro Amp but not quite satisfied with the sound when it boosts my signal, it feels that it is lacking something. I also used a DANO Transparent OD v1 for a couple of months but it add MIDS. THis pedal really DOES SOUND VERY GOOD! Highly RECOMMENDED!!!!
@RosaRose168 it depends on a few things. one, if you're running it in a tube amp. and two, if you're running it in the loop or in front. if you're running it in the loop, you won't have any problems. but you will get some breakup in front...but that's any boost pedal. this one's probably the most transparent one i've ever had when it comes to that.
@pings15pings It's designed to just boost the volume while adding slight tone coloration depending on the knob (more bass, more treble, etc). However, if you have a non-master volume head which distorts the more you increase the volume (like the old Marshall plexis) using this to periodically increase the volume should help you reach that tone without blowing out a few eardrums in the process.

So I could put this in the front of my pedal board, and it would act as a buffer to improve my tone from long cables and true bypass pedals? In one of these videos VS showed that even a 20ft George L cable showed dramatic loss. Guitar > 30ft cable > effects > amp. I have about 60ft of cable in my rig, will a good buffer after my guitar cable fix any signal loss?
Wonderful sound. Which is the constant factor in the videos for the Visual Sound products. The addition of a tone control to this pedal makes it nice since sometimes I have the amp set to the proper brightness for rhythm but when using a boost it would be too bright. The tone knob here allows for a more musical sound for the lead. This pedal is now on my "must purchase list". Thanks.
Though this pedal runs on 9v, it converts to 27v internally. The result is amazing headroom. And you get a tone control with it, which is not standard with most boost pedals...
Yes... it runs on 9v and converts to 27v. Huge headroom. Plus, the advantage is it has a tone control so you can dial some back in along with with the boost.
Yes! That is the sole purpose of this pedal. There is no coloring of the sound, only a clean boost with lots of headroom. This pedals converts from running off of 9v to 27v internally giving the user unlimited gain. When running it at the end of your pedal chain, it provides the edge you need without overdriving the sound of any pedal preceding it. If you want to overdrive an individual pedal, you can certainly put it before that pedal and drive it as hard as you want.

I wish there was a comparison video between the True Tone, EHX LPB-1 and MXR Micro Amp (or any other booster/volume pedal),

@mindflashbr Trust me. This bad ass kicks every pedal you've mentioned.

Will this pedal eventually break up if the volume knob is maxed out?

if placed in front or before an overdriven amp, will it boost the volume or just the gain?..

Will it (or any other V2 pedals) buffer enough when turned off for me to use a low impedance volume pedal without treble loss? Thanks for posting it!

Yes, the Pure Tone buffer is in all the Visual Sound pedals and is active even when the pedal is bypassed.

Even if one of the Visual Sound pedals is first on your pedalboard, it will help the whole signal chain.

How does this work with a distorted amp? Pushing it into a more brootal crunsh?
Sereth1 2 years ago
To use it where you're not overdriving the amp, use it in the effects loop. That way it will only be the amp, louder.

how many db's of clean boost does this give?

Wait, so you can actually use a 9v adapter (i.e. 1Spot) to power this?
