What i dont quite get is the alien abortion thingy. i mean WHY are they taking the kids from the pregnant women? Are they gonna use the kids (unevolved) brains? are the brains of pregnant women not good enough? And if they just want as many brains as possible, why not take the brains of the pregnant woman after taking her kid?
Also....to my understanding, Jarrod's sentience was a result of being temporarily exposed to the light...correct? I'm certain it would have dawned on other people, to where if they noticed someone entranced by the light they would at least tackle them as well. Especially true for any military forces SO.... by the time in the movie, why was Jarrod the only exception?

I'm failing to see how any kind of an intelligent sequel can be made of this. Humanity is practically done. Jarrod might retain his sentience, and overpowered a few others aliens to save his pregnant girlfriend, but he is impossibly outnumbered. I'm sure once word got back to whatever higher authority exists for the aliens that there is a rogue brain transfer who poses a significant threat (hah...and a nuke wasn't?) that he would become a prime target for security forces on that ship.

All the special effects was STUNNING and AWESOME and the storyline was meh but it still made me dropped my jaws for it. Overall I cant wait for a sequel I wanna see Jarrod kick their alien asses.

Put on your Stargate hats, put the movie into an "ancient aliens"/religious sense, and what do you get? Blinding lights descending from the heavens, people staring into those lights & being taken up, and their "souls" (consciousness, as the ending shows) being granted a new life as the cpu for these biomechanical creatures. The old neighbor even says it in the film: "it's the rapture". The aliens ("God") are just back to cultivate their crops.
i personally think it was a decent movie, only way i could POSSIBLY think it was great is if these aliens go on galactic pillaging of planets for intelligent life. it would make sense as to how their ships have remained powered for so long. i mean you would have to think about it. okay there are aliens in this movie, whos to say there arent millions more out there in THIS "movie universe" and thus they have a good plot. but they didnt explain anything so this is just my theory or whatever.
Why is it so hard to believe that aliens capable of regeneration would want to consume biological resources as well as mech- critics didnt like that part but i did... isnt that probably how they would get so smart. Biology is a warfare of its own, like when nature fights nature with its own bio arms race... if it can utilize the bio functions of other creatures why wouldnt it want to. I freaking would. I think its awesome and if an alien movie is alien to me im freaking glad for it.

Nifty explaination. I liked the movie. "Liked"...not loved. I just found it entertaining. I just suspended all sense of plot, set low expectations for an ending, and just enjoyed the alien/human interraction. It was a shame these cool aliens and effects couldn't have been paired with a cool story, but hey...I didn't feel cheated.

my opinion is that the aliens we see in skyline is biorobots and need somekind of AI Chip.The abductions etc can serve that the aliens who control the biorobots have the time to adapt the human brain to work with the mainfraim so dosent see red brains. Well, this movie wasn't horrible. It was disappointing but not horrible. The acting was decent but its storyline brings Nothing new to the game - just cheap and poor imitation of War of the Worlds, Cloverfield and even The X Files. Some moments reminded me Supernova (2000) and Alien franchise

Aliens need the people's brains to survive. So they have abducted LA to get the brains. Anyways, at the end, Jarrod and Elaina are abducted. The Alien takes the brain of Jarrod. Jarrod's brain gets put into an Alien. The Alien now acts and thinks as Jarrod. They get Elaina ,and they are about to take Elaina's brain right before the Alien (Jarrod) attacks the other Alien. At the end Jarrod feels the baby in her stomach and he rubs her nose like always and she figures out that it's him.

This was probably a speices that can no longer depend on its own biology to survive. May its technological leaps and bounds had a fatal effect on its species so they go Bio Mechcanical (or cybernetic) They invade our world to take our brains just like we would harvest weat and for the most part they had an ansewer to all our weapons but what they didnt think would happen would be someone get immuned to being enslaved and retain sentience and have their own weapon used aginst them.
The ending was phenomenal. The only reason anyone is bitching about it is because they wanted more. So instead of supporting the movie and ensuring a sequel gets made, they go around talking shit about the movie which keeps other people from seeing it, thus preventing a sequel. Also, rjpdx is wrong, the directors confirmed that it wasn't just the light dose that made him able to resist - he's literally the only person in the world that can resist. This is an origin story.
well one reason he resist was because of his will to protect his family which gave him strength to overcome the control and i'm guessing this aliens were all originally human just repogrammed or were once a living organism .

i personally think it was a decent movie, only way i could POSSIBLY think it was great is if these aliens go on galactic pillaging of planets for intelligent life. it would make sense as to how their ships have remained powered for so long. i mean you would have to think about it. okay there are aliens in this movie, whos to say there arent millions more out there in THIS "movie universe" and thus they have a good plot. but they didnt explain anything so this is just my theory or whatever.

Why is it so hard to believe that aliens capable of regeneration would want to consume biological resources as well as mech- critics didnt like that part but i did... isnt that probably how they would get so smart. Biology is a warfare of its own, like when nature fights nature with its own bio arms race... if it can utilize the bio functions of other creatures why wouldnt it want to. I freaking would. I think its awesome and if an alien movie is alien to me im freaking glad for it.

Nifty explaination. I liked the movie. "Liked"...not loved. I just found it entertaining. I just suspended all sense of plot, set low expectations for an ending, and just enjoyed the alien/human interraction. It was a shame these cool aliens and effects couldn't have been paired with a cool story, but hey...I didn't feel cheated.

What they came down for made perfect sense, and it was a good story... its about time we didn't miraculously win over aliens who obviously have better technology. Not ripping on previous films I liked them too, but the story WAS good, the fact is... Our brains would make the best computer processors if it was able to be harnessed as such.

Well, this movie wasn't horrible. It was disappointing but not horrible. The acting was decent but its storyline brings Nothing new to the game - just cheap and poor imitation of War of the Worlds, Cloverfield and even The X Files. Some moments reminded me Supernova (2000) and Alien franchise
The Best and the most unique SCI-FI movies were in the 50's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Unfortunately Our modern so-called "blockbusters" are poor sequels, useless remakes, stupid rip offs etc

Respond to this video... well tbh if an extra terrestrial force is capable of inter-stellar travel, it stands to reason that nuclear missiles would have little or no effect on em. i mean it's not even been a 100 years since the atom bomb. but my guess is, if we were attacked by e.t's the USA would be the first to surrender, in the hope that they could create an underground resistance, they may be powerful, but only coz they have more nuclear bombs than most countries.

Aliens need the people's brains to survive. So they have abducted LA to get the brains. Anyways, at the end, Jarrod and Elaina are abducted. The Alien takes the brain of Jarrod. Jarrod's brain gets put into an Alien. The Alien now acts and thinks as Jarrod. They get Elaina ,and they are about to take Elaina's brain right before the Alien (Jarrod) attacks the other Alien. At the end Jarrod feels the baby in her stomach and he rubs her nose like always and she figures out that it's him.

This was probably a speices that can no longer depend on its own biology to survive. May its technological leaps and bounds had a fatal effect on its species so they go Bio Mechcanical (or cybernetic) They invade our world to take our brains just like we would harvest weat and for the most part they had an ansewer to all our weapons but what they didnt think would happen would be someone get immuned to being enslaved and retain sentience and have their own weapon used aginst them.

The ending was phenomenal. The only reason anyone is bitching about it is because they wanted more. So instead of supporting the movie and ensuring a sequel gets made, they go around talking shit about the movie which keeps other people from seeing it, thus preventing a sequel. Also, rjpdx is wrong, the directors confirmed that it wasn't just the light dose that made him able to resist - he's literally the only person in the world that can resist. This is an origin story.
