im in the guys castle now on very hard. There are so few saves its quite difficult. particulary this part. there is a save point before mike tyson... the next save point is the screen above the moving spikes seen here. I would constantly get to the moving spike screen and get owned right at the end.
I had to eventually get back on my medium save where i could repeat the moving spike screen over and over till i got it down 10 times in a row perfect.... then i beat the very hard save. =) FUN GAME
Those moving spikes are fucking bitches. I'm in the safe point between the last pair of spikes, and I cannot do it. I did it ONCE, I don't even know how, and the fucking tombstone toppled on me. Please, advise me.
Jump when the spike directly to your right is coming up, not when it's coming down. It's all muscle memory, really. Once you nail it a couple of times, you'll nail it without thinking about it from then on.
I played the demo, it seemed like very trial and error gameplay. Which I don't find very entertaining, playing the same level over and over just to find out what to do.

You know what we got? 3 Lives! And I tell ya we were happy to get 'em! And if you wanted another one you had to walk across World 1-1 all the way to 1-3 in 2 feet of snow in your grandfathers pajamas uphill BOTH ways and collect 100 coins while ya did it; all in less than 300 super fast seconds.
And that was for the charitable games. I tell ya kids nowadays don't know how good you have it...
Sorry to pry you away from your infinite respawns and your checkpoints and savepoints and easy mode there junior but just remember one thing. You can't truly call yourself a gamer unless you have spent many a sleepless night wrestling with your controller trying to beat Ghosts 'n Goblins... or something similar...

No, I don't like infinite lives or anything like that, I just don't like doing the exact same thing over and over again. I like puzzles which invole using your mind, not just jumping around again and again till you do it right.
Then this game is most likely not for you. And those games aren't even that bad. Don't act like a wise old man who had it "tough" because video games were much harder back then.

It's weird, because once you know the timing of the spikes, you can get by them every time. But if you stop and THINK about the timing, you'll almost definitely get killed. I can do it unconciously or not at all, pretty much.
