  • The beauty of the Nordic cultures has indeed been spoiled by people like AH and ABB, but it's still there to see and hear. But hurry - we're very busy destroying ourselves.

  • I thought for sure this was a joke and not an actual song

  • yeah.... downloading xD

  • Damn the first few seconds sound Boss.

  • Ole Bull FTW

  • i know what their saying at the start hmm hmm halalahlalalhlal laelalalo very weird

  • i didn't actually expect anyone else to have noticed this song. god bless the internet

  • I found lyrics!!

Yeeaahhheeahhh, I want potatoes, I want potatoes, Yeeaahhheeahhh, I want potatoes, I want potatoes ...

  • Note that this video was posted on May 17th, the Norwegian constitution-day

  • This song is the best song I've ever heard. Thank goodness for the Norwegians.

  • Just FYI, theres more norwegians in the US than in Norway lol

  • For some reason, I crave Pickled Herring and Jarlsborg Cheese!

  • woo i just put the 100th thumb up lol

  • 9 people haven't gone to Ogdenville before!

  • when ever Im down I think of this song!

  • why norwegians migrate to usa? their country is way better than usa.

  • @TolangJenny Norway = Rugged, lots of mountains. USA = Flat as F*ck(in most areas)

Mountains = Pretty to look at, bad for farming Great Plains = Beatiful in their way although "Plain," and good for farming. In the old days when 80% of the population were farmers that grew their own food and supported themselves, America was the dream.

  • @TolangJenny As a Norwegian I can tell you that Norwegian migrated to the US because of starvation. They simply couldn't grow enough food for everybody, and some people saw a new and better life in America, and tried to follow The American Dream.

  • @TolangJenny don't really think that there are that many norwegians immigrating now a days, but there are probobly alot of exchange students from Norway :) im norwegian and i have always wanted to studie in the US

  • @TolangJenny YOU need to inform your self, and this is not an American telling You this....i can give YOU many reasons why....please do not mix politics with culture mister....carefull there...wrong wrong...

  • we all love norway

  • best song ever

  • @XXBROWSERXXable me too :D

  • only bad thing about norway is the climate, its good in the summer, but not so much in the other 3 seasons.

  • @anderskittilsen summer all year long would be my idea of desert hell. thats why Arabs wan't to leave and come to Europe and America.

  • Had a wonderful time in Bergen via Student Exchange!

    Takk så mye

  • its actually a tune used in a couple songs of folkmusic. most known is the sunde`s gammalosten..or in english old cheese.. dont ask....

but its a tune often used in "gammal dans" happenings..

althoug this is a slow type of dance it can also be more fast paced...or in hallingdans

  • Makes me wish I were Norwegian. *sigh*

..too bad i'm finnish and we finns can't make happy songs like this... we just can't...

  • This song is very similar to the huapangos from the huasteca area in México, after the 00:18,,,,, I think all cultures have something in commoon.....

  • once again it has been proved that the north european countries are the best ones, god!...wish i was born there...i wish it so badly...instead of this god forsaken hole full of venomous bugs and snakes....

  • @13101988andoni We got an adder that can kill you, if you are small, and/or you get an alergic readtion from the venom, and PAIN. Anyway do not move to the muslim parts of Norway, you will get your illusion destroyed.

  • This song is so addictive !

  • tromsø er ikkje ein stor by i noreg. Tromsø er ein midels by.

Btw ayemy, this is norwegian. Googel-translate it if you want to. (maby you understand) ;)

  • its my new favourite norwegian song. . . we sing all the time here in Tromso

  • Tromso!? Haha!

One of Noways biggest and most famus city are named Tromsø. Inspirated/imigrated of Norway? :P

  • yeah i live in tromso, norway

  • @lusindre =)

  • ja vi elsker....love this episode, just watched it...haha norwads x)

  • Thanks for uploading this, this is a really good sounding song at the end of that Episode

  • I thinks it's a good picture of the old, traditional Norwegian. Today's Norway isn't anything special or different from other nationalities.

  • i love it man =]

  • artig at den kom ut på 17. mai :)

  • Comment removed

  • These guys didn't seem very Norwegian to me. It was funny though ^^ Even if they might have a slightly wrong interpretation (Yes i know its comedy :) ) of Norwegian people.

    Proud to be Norwegian!

  • OMG!! denhne sangen eier hardt!! råkul episode må være beste episode for alle nordmenn!!

    GO NORWAY!!!

  • love this song i wanna get it nice vid i subscribed to you awesome song i love this ep of the simpsons.

  • Gammalosten og Røtter er fantastisk.

  • Episoden gikk akkurat på TV i dag! Smilte under hele episoden! Proud to be a Norwegian!

  • jeg så den også! Kjempeartig, eller hva?

  • you posted the video 17 may, wich is norways natinal day, thats coool .

  • i bought it of iTunes

thnx anyway. o and i heard that version too, i like it.

  • This whole song is available on iTunes. It's one of the most popular Norwegian folk songs. From Voss.

  • on the show the cop car's are lowriding

  • This song is Hopparen (the jumper). It appears to be a recording of Chateau Nuef doing the song.

  • I love this song! xD When I first watched this episode, it was kind of annoying, but I really like it now lol. Does anyone know if this is a real song, or did they just make it for the episode?

  • This is an actual Norwegian folk song. It's very popular. Its name is Hopparen. Very traditional from the south.

  • this might be the happiest song ive ever heard

  • this is now my third comment on how KEWL AND FUNNY THIS SONG IS !!!

  • jajaja jeg hater den rybak fyren den sangen er så javla dårelig norwegian yeahyeah i hate that rybak guy his song is so fuckin bad norge er best !!!!!!!

  • LOL funnny song

  • why are you against your own rybak? don't you like it that norway is getting the spotlight?

  • @Manglelapp Har fremdeles ikke hørt låta, bank i bordet!

  • norge!! GENIAL EPISODE

  • The creator of the simpsons is half norwegian so no wonder we get a episode about norway D'oh

  • yeah i think i might get that song as a ringtone

  • You norwegians are so damn lucky, got a whole simpsons dedicated to you!

    Im swedish you see.

Somehow I feel like the simpsons are getting more and more scandinavian references.

Anyway, this song is kinda catchy. It really sounds like it comes from here. Some old norse anthem. It's strange how these kind of songs work up here.

  • the song is called "hopparen" and is played by a chateu neuf orchestra, a norwegian folksong

  • låter rätt svenskt också. Eller allmän nordisk folksång

  • Comment removed

  • Ah, oki, min feil:P

  • the band that makes this song is called Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag

  • Its just played by them, its a norwegian folksong.

  • løgn!

  • CAN'T STOP DOING A JIG!

  • Awesome...

  • Hopparen! Herlig! :)

  • The Simpsons should not stop next year they should get to five hundred and make a really good ep

  • I am such a freaking Norwegian. I love it.

  • This episode is amazing! I was laughing so hard (in a good way) because it reminded me a lot of how many Minnesotan friends sound like. Just like Fargo!

  • Why did my comment get thumbed down just becase it was in swedish?

I said: This is so addicting :O Love it <3

  • I'm glad some of you also find this song addicting because I thought it was just me.

  • Matt G. is half Norwegian, hence why Norway has been mentioned in quite a few episodes during the years

  • Detta är så beroendeframkallande :O Älska <3

  • looool

I love it, it's really addicting though!

  • if there is an extended version, i must have it!!!!!! and this is waaay to addicting, i'm scared lol

  • VadFlicks, the song is called "Hopparen" (in english; the jumper) by a folk band called Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag. You can find it on spotify if you have that ;)

  • It's so addicting! XD

  • why can't i stop lisening to this song? it is soo good

  • They totally jumbled norwegian and swedish things in that episode. :)

Also the words where pronounced more german than norwegian. :)

But at least they got the folk song, lusekoftor and Aquavit right. :)

  • nope. its norwegian

  • nice

  • Norway !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The closing credits of the show featured a tune called Hoppar'n, a rull / rudl from Voss handed down by fiddler Ola Mosafinn (1828-1912) as played by contemporary Norwegian folk band, Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag.

  • @multemusic I bet You Go That Off Wikipedia XD!

  • @TheAeonflux10 No. I own the Chateau Neuf CD/album it is on and I know the tune. I recognized it immediately when the closing credits started to play during the acutal broadcast. :-)

  • Nice lol
