Ural beats a harley any time, i had my share of both. I love the ural, they are somewhat russian bmw's, but very durable and fun to ride. The girls love the sidecar too btw, so get one if you can (-:
Harleys are way too fragile, not to mention gay. They're for Yuppies and RUBs. My Ural Gear Up was half the price, and it's twice the bike. It's tougher than a hammer, and it's loads of fun off road. As for holding up traffic, hell, that's their problem, not mine.
HD are perfect for the open road, I love HD. But If were talking about bikes with sidecars. I Vote for URAL.Its not the top speed that Im into. Its the agility and the practicality of a bike with sidecars.
Well the HD with the side care probably weighs about 1500lbs, I imagine the Ural weighs in about 800, or roughly half the weight. As TheHessian said, HD will win on the highway, Ural off road.
So what you're saying is that the Harley is GROSSLY overweight then? 1500lbs is small car weight, stupid for a bike, even an outfit. The Ural is no lightweight!
No not exactly, I over estimated the weight of the Ultra with a side car, dry weight of the Ultra is 814lbs, plus oil and gas, probably another 30 lbs, and then side car, which I would guess to be at least 200 so right around 1000 lbs when all said and done. I still cant see the Ural being that heavy though.
The Ural wins in dirt, mud, snow and other conditions that the Harley is not intended to be in. Try comparing them on the highway where the Harley Davidson is meant to ride. the Harley will not max out at 63 mph.

Urals are great but these US highways need a faster engine. 55-60mph and you are holding up traffic.
