@pink0f I can understand some critics find it inconsistent if an artist has to use the same methods he seems to criticise in his work (someone compared Haneke and his attitude towards the audience with the pastor of The White Ribbon) … But I can't really decide if I mind Haneke being so strict – at least he has something to say that's worth consideration. Thanks for uploading this!

Finde es interessant, daß Haneke genau das an Costa-Gavras kritisiert, was an seinen eigenen Filmen gelegentlich bemängelt wird – nämlich die totalitäre Methode, mit der der Totalitarismus ausgetrieben werden soll (s. Ekkehard Knörers Kritik zu Das Weiße Band) …

Yes, but the larger esthetic (or if you prefer, moral) point I think is; to what aim is one being manipulated by this, as you call it, "totalitarian method" or "fascist esthetic" (as Haneke have called it)? Are you, "the artist", "the creator" going to allow the medium to operate as an intrument to inspire in the viewer a chance for some form of critical reflection or is it simply going to an opportunity for mindless consumption under the harmless pretext of "Entertainment".
