I could be wrong here, but the only bass-baritones I know of who sang more than a couple roles in each fach were Michael Bohnen, Jose van Dam and James Morris --

@stevevandien Most great singers are zwischenfach. Mardones, Journet and many of the older singers sang both bass and some baritone. Siepi sang Don Giovanni. Ramey also sang both as did George London.

Ghiaurov was actually a basso cantante, meaning that he was most at home in high-lying bass roles. As far as I'm able to discern, he never sang any true baritone role.

If you're thinking of Escamillo, its tessitura is low enough so that high-lying basses can sing it comfortably.

If, however, I am wrong regarding NG's "baritone" roles, please tell me:).
