  • I have a XFX Amd Radeon 6770. It has 2 dvi 1 hdmi and 1 display port. I have one led monitor connected and 2 22 inch led samsung tv's. I cant extend my main desktop which is the actual monitor to the 2 led tvs. Im using 2 hdmi cords on the tvs with dvi-d adapters on the end. For the actual monitor im using a display port to dvi-d. Why wont it work????

  • ok im using a hdmi and 2 dvis? do i need to use the that extra port to use all displays at once?

  • @bomboxkatt yes, you have to use the display port

  • can you send me the backround?

  • nice video, ty. i see all of your monitors are same size and resolutions I guess, but is this possible with 2x27" (1920) + 22" (1680)? I dont need it for gaming, just for 2d desktop use.

  • @riox13x yes it is, i had three different resolution monitors setup when i first got my card.

  • Awesome, thank you for the information. I've been toying around with dropping some cash for racing sims. Accolades bro. Cheers

  • Thank you my friend ( Indian Accent)

  • I have a msi twin frozr 5850 and just bought a 3rd screen today.. And was happy to setup with 3 display.

But I cant make it work?

    The cables i use is

    - Dvi to dvi

    - Hdmi to dvi

    - Displayport to dvi

The screens that is activate right now is the hdmi to dvi and the displayport to dvi because it is the 2 screens with biggest resolutions.

It is not so much to get eyefinity in games and that, it is just to be able to use 3 screens..

So it is because of the displayport to dvi cable is not good enough?

  • hi mate sorry to bother you, i have 2 x asus 1gb 6950 set up in crossfire with 1 bridge, which gives me 8 DP's and 4 x dvi

i have a chance to get 6 x 19" dvi monitors how would i set this up correctly??

  • @robbinwoods123 it's basically the same process but since i haven't set a 6 monitor setup before i don't know exactly how it would work. you might just have to get a dongle for each of the card. and the cards should have came with dp to dvi or via dongles already so they'' work with your monitors.

  • Hay bro hope you are fine....i want to know about tow graphics card model & can you tell me is that graphics have Eyefinity system?

    EAH5450 /DI/ 1GD3 & EAH6450 SILENT /DI/ 1GD3

  • alright im getting a 6950 soon and i want to use eyefinity on 3 of my tv's will these connections work?

    HDMI

    DVI to HDMI

    DP to VGA

and one more question if i use one 21.5" screen and two 19" screens on either side will it still work? all 3 monitors are 1360x768

  • @TheMasterKorey they should work

  • @Majidsyed2 alright thanks for the reply

  • @TheMasterKorey At these resolutions it should be no problem going over VGA, but always remember that VGA is an old ANALOG standard. This means there is a loss in quality with higher resolutions and cable length. Also, the delay of the monitor itself is not realistic anymore (let's say it has 2ms reaction time; but the digital DP signal is coded into analog goes through the cable and is reinterpolated to a digital signal - this costs time and will result in a loss of quality).

  • can you do it with hdmi ?

  • @XixcaolanxiX no it has to be display port for at least one connection.

  • @Majidsyed2 ok thanks man :)

  • I got two monitors, how do I arrange them. For example, I have to go to the mice on the right side (main monitor) in order to pass on the second monitor that is staying on my left side. Thanks.

  • @backcenter2 you should have a monitor setup option in either your control panel or if your using a video card it should be a program you can launch. for example catalyst. right click your mouse on your desktop and it should be a selection. from there you can arrange your monitors.

  • Is it possible to use:

Monitor 1: MDP -> HDMI (active adapter)

    Monitor 2: HDMI direct

Monitor 3: DVI -> VGA (passive adapter)

Or will the VGA analog signal cause the eyefinity not to work?

  • @csthehest yes it's possible to use those and no the vga should work fine

  • Hi Ive got 5870 and it has 2 mini Displayport 1 HDMI and 2 DVI so what i did was i bought an adaptor and my setup is miniDP to DVI + DVI + HDMI the problem is my computer can detect all 3 screen (2x22"LG monitor and 1x32"LG TV) but it wont let me extend my desktop to all 3 monitors I can only extend it to 1 monitor (2monitors running) this is all done in an updated version of catalyst. please help me thank you!

  • @catneilquezada if your using the latest catalyst it gets a bit complicated but you just have to create a group and if it still doesn't work disable it and do it again. it takes me like three tries to do it on my computer too.

  • nice video,tnx man :D

  • i dont have a display port on my computer plz help

  • hey bro thought you were great in Avatar

  • @t00thman I knew I recognize this guy! :D

  • hey i got an 6670 saphire card. i have 1 dvi 1 displayport and 1 hdmi. can i do eyefinity then with 3 monitors with dvi connectors?

  • @Indusrock YES, but you'll need to get a dongle to convert your display port to dvi and the same for your hdmi.

  • @Majidsyed2 yesh i got that! BUT the amd catalyst only use 2 monitors but detects 3 monitors.... i dont know what i gotta do then

  • @Indusrock if it does that just create a group and then disable it, when you do this it will detect all three.

  • @Majidsyed2 im gonna try that if not can i PM you for help then?

  • @Majidsyed2 i try it but it detects 3 screens but i can only use 2. i dont know what i gotta do then ;(

  • Amd vision control does not detect my second Monitor, how can I get AMD and windows to detect the second monitor? One is plugged directly up with DVI and one is plugged in to a VGA to DVI converter.

  • What graphics card do you have?? P

  • @kontrolfreek1 i have a 5850 right now

  • that are 3 the same?

  • @AllDayGaming112 no not the monitor in the middle the outer ones are.

  • bad ass

  • I got 3 20.5inch monitors with a VTX3D, I've got one plugged into Display Port, one in dvi and hdmi I go to duplicate and on the third one it says "Operation Not Supported: Duplication of displays over multiple graphics processors us not supported. For more details, please see Help." please help asap

  • So damn unconvenient :/

I always keep focus on 1 screen

  • WOW! Amazing instructions, great video covering everything, good undertanding and THANK YOU! Subbed!

  • @Rilin8088 are you sure thats a hdmi because your series of cards is capable, I'm pretty sure.

  • can i do this with a 1 DVI and 1 VGA please respond

  • @eTeRnoXiiPuRe you need an active display adapter

  • love ya geeks!!!

  • nice video and good xplaining:-)

  • can i do that with my hp pavillion dv6 a8 laptop

  • @edelfurioso22 no, only eyefinity enabled cards will work

  • I can't Get it to work with my Radeon HD 6870 :(

  • where can i buy all these things. i have a GTX 590 graphics card (2 of them both in a motherboard with 3 way SLI). i want 3 monitors, will this allow me to use 3 monitors with one output

  • I have a VTX3D 6790 it has 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 Display port, would that work?

  • @DoodleJelly yes it will

  • Would the Asus GTX 560ti work for eyefinity?

  • can i use 3 monitors Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB PhysX cant find the a answer plz help :)!

  • @mexxarn not only is eyefinity AMD-only, but you'll want at least 2gb of vram

  • @mexxarn You can't use Eyefinity with a Nvidia graphics card. It's only for AMD.

  • @mexxarn Eyefinity is AMD's name for multi monitor usage (not necessarily 3). Using more than 2 monitors at the same time with a single-gpu card from nVidia is NOT possible (even if the slots are given, they do not support it). You need an SLi bundle or a dual-gpu nVidia card for that. Current ATI/AMD cards supports up to 6 monitors PER card (a quadfire bundle could run 24 monitors theoretically).

  • @mexxarn Eyefinity is an AMD-only feature

  • anyway to do this with HDMI cables?

  • I have a XFX Radeon HD 5870 Will it run 3 27" Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD's the graphics card has Display port and i think the monitors are native

  • I have ATI radeon 6900 I cant get the 3ed display to work any ideas why?

  • @bofal3a 1 of the displays HAS to be either plugged into active display or a active mini-display port on the video card. eg. 2 monitors plugged into DVI ports and 1 in the HDMI WON'T work. 2 in DVI 1 in display or mini-display WILL work.

p.s I had the same problem but this fixed it.

  • if I have 3 23" monitors but different manufacturer (let's say a DELL and 2 BENQ for example) will it still work properly in gaming?

  • AMD approved dongles support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx

  • Thx 4 your vid! Current DP 2 HDMI adapter works but still cannot power on three monitors simultaneously. Is my DP 2 HDMI converter active?

Specs on DP to HDMI adapter are as follows:

-Support DisplayPort 1.1a input and HDMI OUTPUT.

-Support HDMI highest video resolution 1080P.

-Support HDMI 225mHZ/2.25gBPS PER CHANNEL (6.75Gbps all channel) bandwidth.

-Supports HDMI 12bit per channel (36bit all channel) deep color

-Supports uncompressed audio such as LPCM.

    -Powered from DisplayPort source

  • How big are your screens

  • @Inkwaboom 23" screens

  • Does eyefinity work with 2 gtx 580's?

  • Is Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB PhysX enable to eyfinity if not will it work if i buy one more of Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB PhysX or ? Pls??

  • Buddy, they don't run two VGAs or two DVIs due to the frequency of the connections exceeding the total clock speed of the graphics card, VGA is not 'a little bit' lesser then DVI.

  • have 1 asus +2 samsung sa23750d monitors set up in eye finity but keep getting bsod and game crashes 6970x2 in crossfire can anyone help pleeeeeaaase!

  • @Majidsyed2 I'm about to buy a 2 GB Radeon HD 6950 card. And I wanted to have a triple monitor eyefinity setup. I wanted to know what monitors do you think have the thinnest bezels?

  • i have a problem. can u help me? i have set uo my 3th monitor to mini displayport ( cuz my hd 6970 has no normal display ports) but the res of the left display is not HD its like 1600 by 1200 max why is this? i jsut can choose between 4800 x 900 or 4800x 1200. why is this? do u know a mini display port to display port adapter? cuz i had to buy one , because i have the same normald display port to dvi sapphire thig as u have

  • Thanks for posting this video, out of all the videos thats uploaded on YouTube pertaining to this subject, you explained it the best! Also, what kind of video camera are you using to record this tutorial?

  • Can eyefinity still work with a DP to HDMI adapter?

  • i have a AMD/ATI Radeon™ HD 5870, with two monitors 23" and one of 20" will eyefinity work for me?

  • is it possible with a ATI Radeon 6790?

  • @Dragonsoft22

depends on brand, different brands/builds of the card give different outputs

  • Hey M8, could i use eyeinfinity on a PowerColor Radeon 4890 1GB GDDR5 ? :)

  • @sneakyy1337test no, two monitors is the max

  • @Majidsyed2 what about a SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE Graphics Card

  • @sneakyy1337test eyefinity technology is only on amd 5000 series and above, the 4000 series don't have the technology for it.

  • I have a AMD readon 6770, i dont have a display port there i have a HDMI DVI and RGB connections i have three screens with DVI and RBG ports so how do i setup eyefinity wihtout the Display port ? please help thanks :D

  • does it work with GeForce GTX 470?

  • @CRAZOY no, only eyefinity enabled cards.

  • @Majidsyed2 Thanks for the info.

  • My question is could I use two Eyefinity cards to display one view across 6 monitors while at the same time have two other video cards which would act independantly from the eyefinity cards. I'm sure this soulds crazy but you'd have to just view some of my videos to see what I am trying to get at. Great tutorial though!

  • what would be the best monitor to use for this? im looking for one with speakers as i do not have room/ dont wana run speakers also

  • nerdtalk below me

  • hey may u can help me...i have a hd5870 and three monitors with hdmi, so i linked one directly to the card, one with an adapter to a dvi and one with adapter to the displayport...but it wont work as i want...i can only enable 2 of them, for enabling the third one i have to disable another oneo.O

    can u help me??

  • hello. Great vid. I am thinking of getting the HIS 1GB 6770 PCI-E card. It has 2x dvi, 1x hdmi and 1x Display port. would this work? Have 3 24" monitors set up with eyefinity(2x dvi and 1X displayport with adapter to vga or dvi or something) and another monitor on the hdmi that isnt apart of the eyefinity?

    Thanks.

  • Hello Majidsyed2. Fantastic video, very thorough yet simple. You explained everything great. I do have a question or two though. I'm currently using a single GeForce 9800 GTX, which uses 2 DVI ports and no "display port connection". Is it possible for me to use 3 monitors with a 9800? If so, would I have to SLI two 9800's in order to accomplish this?

    Thank you in advance!

  • My graphics card only has 1 dvi d - 2 mini displayport - and 1 hdmi. Would the mini displayport work?

  • hey. i just got another monitor today. I have the Asus Ati 6870 and an XFX Ati 6850. The 6870 has 2 Display port adapters and 2 DVI adapters. I have 2 Male Display Port to Male Hdmi adapters and one VGA to DVI adapters. I can not get my 3 monitors working at the same. All your help will be appreciated

  • oops, i ment AND I CAN'T

  • i have ati radeon hd 6800 series with eyefinity, and for i can't duplicate my third screen.

    can you help me?!? :)

  • i've got a big problem, i've bought a HD6990 and the catalyst software detects all my screens but i can't let them work al 3 together, just 2 of it works, can anyone help me?

  • @CrazyTim1246 i have the same problem, but i have hd 6800.

  • @TheDJSFORCE i've solved now, it was just the screen adaptor. but i've got also a 4th screen, witch has another resolution. is it possible to make a sort of dual view with it in combination with my other big screens horizontal span?

  • i have a 6970; i have 2 dvi and 1 hdmi, i should not need an adapter , cuz i have 3 places for monitors,right?

  • PS2 Keyboard...

  • Thanks so much! Sorted from your instructions in 7 mins:) tanks, Majid.

Even settled an argument between me and my brother^^.

  • you need 2 video card what!

  • @jay2darejr2 no you only need one if it's a amd eyfinity enabled one

  • i think a dual graphics card would be better than 1 for this setup

  • Great video...question; I have an HD 5450, 2 monitors on the desktop using the DVI and VGA outputs work fine, and I have an Active Displayport to DVI adapter connected to the Displayport output on the card, but my projector has no display port or HDMI or DVI, so I'm also using a DVI to VGA at the projector end...how can I enable the displayport to extend my desktop to the projector?...any advice will be greatly appreciated!

  • on my pc i got 1 vga and 1 hdmi can i have 2 monitors with this im realy a noob at all this and dont no how it all works so would i be able to have 2 with this like 1 monitor use vga and the second monitor use hdmi?

  • do you have tutioturials on how to do 2 screen computers or SIX screen computers

  • Hi, Good video, im going to be running three moniters all on VGA 2 of them are around 1900x1080 but the other one isnt widescreen, will this be a problem?

  • I tried this on my own i have laptop and i connected another display to it and it WORKS. Thank you for this video.

  • I had 2 monitors on DVI and 1 monitor on DVI to HDMI. Still doesn't work. Help

  • I have a Question my computer has 1 VGA port so with the USB to VGA adapter that adds an additional display can i add a VGA Splitter to the adapter and if so will it recognise it as 2 separate Monitors

  • I tought about getting a second nvidia geforce gtx560 graphics card and hook it up with 3 samsung syncmaster 2443 FWs, do you think I'll have any problems doing this and do you think it will work alright?

  • Nice video. I've been debating trying to hook up a few monitors to my gaming laptop. Sadly, it only has one vga and hdmi port. So I was thinking of getting a Matrox TripleHead2Go so that I can either hook up two monitors to it or put it to the side and go with three. My laptop has a ATI Mobile Radeon 5870 in it and its listed on their site as it supports evefinity. So my biggest issue is the cost in the triplehead. Can you think of a cheaper route before I drop $300 just for that device?

  • I really wanna know how you duplicated all three monitors without it saying cannot be done if meet with all requirements.

  • Hi i got 3 monitors (3x24") for my crossfire 6970's and I can run 2 in eyefinity but third is not connecting. I have 1 in dvi, 1 in hdmi, and 1 in hdmi to display port adapter. I tried doing the duplicate method but i can only get one to execute that task. The 3rd monitor prompts a catalyst message to come up and say it is not supported which I have 6 series-xxx card so

I don't see how. I also switched around the main monitor like display port native and it still gives me error. What can I do?

  • @RiggedBlowHole hi there, i had a similar problem, try this - connect your middle monitor to the minidisplay port on the 6970 (i suggest you get a mini display port to hdmi adapter and then connect hdmi cable from adapter to monitor) the other two monitors connect them directly via dvi cable....as there are two dvi ports on the back of the 6970. This should fix the problem. Let me know if it works for you, am interested in getting feedback.

  • I just tried that and it did not work until I figured out that the mini display port adapter must be active and i bought the 30$ one of of newegg and ill be getting that in 4 days. I will be sure to tell u if this active mini display port allows me to duplicate& use third monitor for eyefinity.

  • hey just seeing how fast your respond, i have some really important questions

  • May I use a display to DVI instead of VGA? (then all 3 are DVI connections)

  • @1mazn yes...will work just fine (perhaps if not better)

  • Very high quality video. Thank You!

  • Hey Majidsyed2, I'm happy I found your videos. I have a question - I ordered a 6970 the other day and it should arrive soon. I'm sure it comes with a Mini DisplayPort to Displayport. Can I simply plug in the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort then to a Displayport to VGA ? I'd appreciate your thoughts, thanks :D

  • @wacko506 yeah it think that should work just fine, although since it will be two adapters on each other, it might have issues with the signal being converted twice. let me know if it works properly.

  • @Majidsyed2 I have 3 VGA monitor's 6xxx AMD GPU doesen't have 2xDVI-I instead it is 1xDVI-I and 1xDVI-D so I have to buy older 5xxx series and adapter or wait for 7xxx series and hope that it will have 2xDVI-I

  • so um.. i just bought an hd 6990 and im having a hard time finding a high high high end mini display to hdmi, ive already got really nice hdmi cables

  • i got a question and that is graphics cards only have 1 - 3 ports on them usally bus lets just take an example and say theres a graphics card with 3 ports,: Port 1-HDMI, Port 2 -Displayport Port 3 - VGA well if i want to have 3 moniters i plug 1 in the vga 1 in the displayport vga with adapter thats 2 screens but what about the third one cant you plug it into a HDMI or would i need to get a 2nd graphics card for the third VGA for the screen please answer ASAP

  • @bluedog916 if you card has displayport it can do eyefinity. all the screens would connect to the same card. as long as one of your monitors is connected to displayport properly you should be fine.

  • I have got 1 Dell screen and 2 iiyama screens, all 3 of 'em around 24 inch, I want to put them in eyefinity, is it ok to put 2 DVI's (the outer screens) in a DVI out port on my pc and then for my middle screen connect dvi to mini display cable, or does eyefinity require the display port ADAPTER? if so does it have to be active or passive? please help me out! if you don't know what I mean you can always pm me on youtube! Thanks in advance!

  • @MyTopFun you need a adapter for converting dp to dvi and it can be passive or active, they usually go for around $30 for a passive one and around $100 for an active one. i have a passive one and it works great.

  • @Majidsyed2 So basically I connect my middle screen with that adapter and connect the adapter with my mini display port cable I got with my GPU, and then the 2 outer screens just connect with DVI?

  • @Majidsyed2 I now got a Bizlink KS10009-131 DVI-D Single Link Passive. But in Catalyst he can't put them in a group of 3, only 2, altho all 3 screens work. FYI my middle screen has a resolution of 2048 x 1152 and my outer screens have 1920 x 1080, does this matter? Do I need 3 screens with the same maximum resolution?

  • @MyTopFun i would lower the resolution on the middle monitor when setting up for the first time, because it might be whats causing only two to show up. also when it's in eyefinity it'll make your center monitor 1920*1080 by default. oh and it requires a displayport adapter, unless otherwise stated on the graphics card box that came with it

  • @Majidsyed2 isn't the bizlink an adapter?

  • @MyTopFun it is but since it is passive it wont work as stated on the amd website, but there are 3rd party eyefinity adapters that will work

  • Can you please tell me where can I buy that race day game, a link would be appreciated. I am not a game person but really like the one you showing in eyefinity.

  • Can you use the hdmi port if your video card has one?

  • @mbaseballpro2 yes but not to use it as a replacement for display port. you can use it alongside the display port though

  • @Majidsyed2 Oh ok thanks

  • will it work to use eyefinity on ''ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti'' ?

  • how do i get the catalyst control center?

  • where do i get a table for trimonitors, good lookn table

  • Very detailed and helpful video. Thanks man!

  • Thanks for the vid man. A few questions.

    1. I have a radeon hd4650 (1gb) (not eyefinity compatible) running nicely with an nvidia 8400gs (786mb I think) as a dedicated physx card (with a few patches), do you know if I'll be able to use these cards together as eyefinity?

    2. Roughly how much would the cheapest eyefinity card be?

    3. Can I mix and match with similar resolution monitors?

  • @huze5 no matching those two cards will not work together to give you eyefinity. the cheepest card for eyefinity would probably be 200 to 250 more or less depending on where you get it. yes you can mix and match similar resolutions

  • Hi MajidSyed, Btw Can I Use Your Technique In Ps3 or Laptop ?

  • @ZarroyBulleT no, sorry it only works if you have the graphics card, mobile cards can't do it

  • a built in converter built inside :D

  • excellent

  • can i do more than 3 monitor?

  • @Majidsyed2 I followe the steps you had given and 3 monitors were shown at the bottom of the ATI configuration panel signifying that the graphic card is workign perfectly. "The duplicating of the 2nd monitor went well. However, when the 3rd monitor is to be duplicated, it prompted 'Please select a dispaly to disable''. Device manager shows 3 monitors but system check shows that there are 2 monitors only. Appreciate your advice.

  • hello, i'm wondering if it's possible to link 3 VGA monitors together for eyefinity on a single ATi 6950 2Gb? i've looked everywhere, and i've seen people recommend using one on the DVI-I, and another on active mDP->VGA, and the other one passive mDP->VGA. would it work? or would i need two active adapters? thanks in advance.

  • Thanks for posting all the details very helpful, a couple questions how do you setup 6monitors on 1 eyefinity card I heard there is a way but havent seen one working. 2nd question when using the Sapphire adapter VGA - Disp Port do you lose resolution or any image quality as opposed to getting a DVI-Disp Port adapter??

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 there are cards with 6 mini displayport outs and they are the only ones you can use to get 6 out of one card, there may be loss os image quality but it's not noticable at all, at least not on mine. i use a dp to vga and it works amazingly.

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 Thanks for the comprehensive video. I followed the steps you had given and 3 monitors were shown at the bottom of the ATI configuration panel signifying that the graphic card is working perfectly. The duplicating of the 2nd monitor works well. However, when the third monitor is to be duplicated, it prompted 'Please select a display to disable''. Kindly advise how to overcome this problem

  • @gymmuscles9 I think you meant to ask @Majidsyed2 this question, its his video :-)

  • Which monitors are those?

  • @greygravy sansung p2350 and px2370 (center)

  • do i need a display port adapter, because i have an hdmi to dvi cable, and another dvi monitor, ( no cross fire though) but would i still need to get a display port adapter

  • @shawnygz yes you do need a display port adapter if you dont have a displayport input in your monitor, dp to hdmi wont work with the three together

  • @Majidsyed2 darn

  • Hey I've just set up my first eyefinity build, using a 6950 @ 6970, I have an active mini DP to DVI in the first monitor and two DVI for the second two. Eyefinity is 'working' and the computer recognises that all monitors are there but I cant get an image on the centre monitor at all. It is on, and it is set to the right mode. Any ideas anyone? I've been stuck on this for days :(

  • Is it possible for a Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 or de i need 2 of them?

  • @gunzrunescape you need 2
