  • I ate this show UP as a kid. I'd sprint down the driveway after getting off the bus, straight to the TV at 3:08 every single afternoon. Never did get to see the intro back then. But after this show, the Flintstones at 3:30, then I'd go outside and pretend to turn into a giant gold rocket and fly around looking for monsters to fight....... I would give anything to be able to go back for just one full day.

  • back in the 70s when i was a kid we were living in south america due to my dads work and i used to watch this show everyday, it scared the hell out of me sometimes, lol, there were only 4 channels on tv and 2 of them worked sporadically so this was a treat, ultraman was on those years also, good times, good times.

  • Wow this takes me back to my childhood. After school I would run home grab a snack and watch this show religiously at 3pm. Never missed an episode. Thank you so much for posting this. It brings back good memories when life was simple and carefree.

  • was that suppose to be rodan?

  • Running home from school to catch this was the thing in my day. Man tv was great back in the day.

  • @dakrazy1 I totally agree with you. We also had the best special effect in our day.

  • Man these were the days in the early 80's. I used to watch these reruns as a kid.

  • Muirto show!! Eu gostava muito.

  • GOLDAR NEPHILIM= ANUNNAKIS SUPER POWER RETURNS IN PLANET X2012-2013 I CANT WAIT BBY=)WE LUV SUPER HERO

  • who was looking up power rangers and came across this? XD

  • This show was everything. This was the first true all super hero family & they were Asian persuasion....I loved this....

  • @brownscorpio Don't forget the Fantastic 4.

  • C'mon MonsterZilla, kick his a.s.s. ha ha!

  • Cheesey, but good. I remember this cartoon back in the day.

  • where did the little girl come from? I guess they had to have a nuclear family, had to have balance. Still, I miss this show. I caught it on rerun back in the late 70's. it came on after school and my friends and I were right there in front of the boob-tube. LOL those were the days.

  • You are right it was channel 44. Remember at first whent he channel came about you could barely make out the signal? But we did and loved what we saw!

  • Looks like Goldar put on a few pounds since I was 5.

  • These shows were ahead of their day !!!

I remember that tune would stick in my mind...

  • These shows were ahead of their day !!!

  • wasn't that monster Rodan? It looked alot like it.

  • Ha, ha! Well, you were too young to know, but we actually saw them back when they were in fashion, not as reruns. I tell you what it was a totally different world back then. There was a sense of mystery for even phone communication was not that great and the Internet did not exist, at least as we know it, and not everybody could afford to travel around the world as easily as nowadays. So places like Egypt, China or the USSR sounded dreamlike. Thanks for answering my comment! Later Iholt! :)

  • In Fla I had to wake up at like 7 am when my dad went to work to watch Battle of The Planets...in the 70's....i miss those times

  • In Fla I had to wake up at likr 7 am when my dad went to work to watch Battle of The Planets...in the 70's....i miss those times

  • awesome...I can't believe I finally found this....I was racking my brain trying to remember what this show was

  • i was born in '74 in PA and used to watch this show every afternoon. we moved when i was 4 or 5 and i could never find it on tv again. it stuck with me though and i've been trying to remember the name of it for the better part of 30 years. god bless the internet....and SPACE GIANTS!!!

  • @dirtywilly26 - born in '72 in PA (outside of Philly) myself. Actually, it was about '78 or '79 was back when channel 17 who broadcast it stopped airing the show, anyway. I remember being so upset, because channel 17 was constantly shuffling their line up and you never knew what time slot it was airing from one month to the next. And then one day, it was gone. But yeah, it's wild finding these old shows we'd nearly forgotten as kids on the computer today. :)

  • Ultramen end up with these space giants of shit

  • very god!!!

  • Coloque na barra de links depois do YOU e antes do TUBE a palavra WIN e ganhe.

  • im 40 now and i used to love this show....can't beleive i did but back in chicago in the 70's this was it...lol

  • @dreskillz38 I'm 39 and I agree. I almost thought I had made this show up in my mind since so few other people had heard of it. I still remember waiting to hear if he would blow the whistle three times for Goldar. It seemed all hell had to break loose for Goldar to be called. Way too much one whistle and Gam (lol).

  • @lfholt7 I can't believe you have recollections of this show for you we were born in 1972 this show was already old and you were just a new born. Perhaps you saw reruns in the late 70's or early 80's. Still, it's good to know that 30 somethings enjoy pretty much the same shows kids from the 60's grew up with.

  • @Managuense1 Man, the funny thing is, until you just mentioned it, I always thought Space Giants, Spectraman, et al., were all brand new when I saw them back in the late '70s early '80s. Haha. If my brother, who was born in '61, hadn't told me he'd seen them all before I would have thought not only were they all knew, but were happening down the street. Ah, the joys of youth.

  • @lfholt7 lololol!!! For real man everyone looked at me crazy, because i move to south carolina. I just knew everyone had to know about it. And i finally got the name today.

  • i really miss these shows, specterman, space giants ultraman from the 60s, man i wonder why wont they show the reruns anymore? those were the times, we will never see shows like this again... ever..

  • @Majistygod... I remember too... WGN baby =) dayum I miss those days.

  • @Legzlegzlegz I thought this always came on WSNS-TV 44 (before it became a Spanish channel) at like 4:30 p.m. in Chicago? Man this who was good.

  • @lfholt7 It did.

TV 44 had a lot of this type of programming... Johnny Socco, UltraMan... before it went Spanish, it was a Japanese invasion!

I think the TV in my room was set to 44 about 90% of the time.

  • @MrJtr75.....i was 3 & 4 years old too......but I could never forget them days....

i remeber specterman, godar, & jhonny socco too.....& if you was really from chicago...?

remeber dat indoor amuesment park called , " old chicago "?????/...

if i die ?...i would love to live those memories agian , & agian....

  • I remember watching this show when I was 4 yrs old. I think it came on after General Hospital. I had forgotten about the show until about a year ago. I was thinking about shows that Ioved as a little kid and I couldn't remember the name of the but it had a huge golden robot that turned into a rocket. Didn't the bad guys men turn to a jelly like substance when they got hit?

  • I used to love this show!!

  • I've never been able to find anyone who could remember seeing this show. I could remember the bad guys turning into "blue applesauce" when they were killed. I would describe it to people and they would just look at me funny.

  • i have the same problem...no one remembers and my kids think i am a freak

  • @melandkole hahahahaha i have the same problems too with my friends... good times, right?

  • I really wanted that whistle when I was a kid.

It could come in handy now as well.

  • This show was AWESOME!!!!! I I should be working right now, instead I am watching THIS!!!!

  • tempo bom, minha infância, não perdia um episódio, deles ...da familia ultraman, ultraman, robo gigante, spetroman, entre outros...

    ohh...saudade

  • chicago back in the 1970's , along with bozo show was the best......

    time sucks!!!!...

  • @MAJISTYGOD I watched the bozo show before I went to school. Remember the clown that did majic "NEWNEE NEWEEN NEW!"

  • @MAJISTYGOD The bozo show had the dot that would surf the crowd for the contestant. The Space Giants came on @3:35 TBS time. South Carolina 1980! I'm not sentimental, but do miss the age of wonder. So many Sci-Fi cartoons back then.

  • @MAJISTYGOD I forget what channel for sure. I'm thinking 44, because I had to change the channel for Tom & Jerry, which was traditionally on 32.

  • I adored this show as a child

  • me too! great channel!

  • este era uno de mis programas favoritos y no me lo perdia. muy buena epoca donde no habia preocupaciones para un niño.

  • This came on WTCG channel 17 in Atlanta - now TBS - at 3:30 every weekday afternoon from 1978-81. I was in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grade then. The kids my age were too cool to admit watching Space Giants, but we watched anyway. We would laugh when those lame Lugo Men were blasted with the ray guns and melted into green vegetable matter resembling applesauce. I've always wondered who did the English voice for Rodak - he sounded old and British.

  • I totally remember this! I loved this show. Weekdays on ch 48 in Philadelphia!! Right after the Banana Splits. Good times...

  • Im from Atlanta and me and brother watched this everyday after school too! I was like 6 yrs old when it started airing. You have to love those effects, lol, So happy to see the clips, brings back memories.

  • Space Giants is the best of its kind. It had everything. I watched the entire series through twice when I was in second grade. I had to quit Brownies because it conflicted with this show. Great to see how many other 70s kids were into it!

  • I think Dr. Shock was 17 as well. Wee Willie ruled. Ultra Man was the best, but this and Johnny S. was almost as good.

  • Dr. Shock!! That brings back alot of good memories!

  • I believe it was Ch. 17 for the Doc. But over the years they switched. Wee Willie was on 48 at one point & I think Schock went to 29

  • Monstruos del Espacio.

  • any one remember esmer???

the boy with the speed boths??

  • This was my favorite show as a kid and I never missed and episode I use to rush home from school to watch it,you are right this is a trip down memory lane, my cousins use to argue of who would win between Goldar and Ultraman, my money would be on Goldar but it would be a good fight.

  • And you gotta love the music, especially "Goldar's Theme." That's the "stirring" tune that sounds like John Philip Souza, but with a weird "blues" note near the end. It's so WRONG that it's glorious!

And I believe filmmaker Akira Kurosawa filmed some of "Ran" at that same castle. So it's lent its image to many cinematic masterworks!

  • Yeah I used to watch 17 the great Entertainer everytime I got home from school. Ultraman, Space Giants, Spiderman, and more.

  • Wasn't UltraMan on WTAF 29 with Giant Robo?

  • I am so glad you posted this video. I used to watch this show on Channel 17 (The Great Entertainer) when I was a kid growing up in Philly.

  • I think that Channel 17 also used to show Johnny Sokko and Ultraman, didn't they?

And at 4 every weekday, they had their 'Monster Theater', with the Universal B&W films and Toho Kaiju flicks?

    Good memories, all.

  • Monster theater was with Dr. Shock

  • Space Giants???!!!!

    This is Tezuka's Ambasidor Magma!!!!

  • I searched and searched for this, I could not remember the name of the show, but I type in the family that could transform to rockets. This was my favorite show back in the 80's. I wish this show and others could return to television.

  • I know this sounds greedy, but are the complete eps availible? Great job dick1222. Haven't seen these since I was around six or seven.

  • lo mejor del 69 y 70

  • Talk about a trip down Memory Lane?!?! I was about 8 when I saw this last.

  • Muito bom!! Me lembro dessa série, era minha preferida!

  • whatta throwback : chapter 1, 10, and 25 - this was a long time ago; before TRANSFORMERS or POWER RANGERS!

  • wooooooooo i still remember goldar!!! and giant robot! hahaha very cool long time a go

  • What kinda jive fight was that??? And, For the last few weeks I thought Miko's mother and Silvar were the same woman. Duh. What the? There is another one? Chapter 26? I'm there dude!

  • first time seen this film , I was about 4-5 years olds. By that time , it was black/white on TV.

    Everything looked realistic...

  • Man, what a disappointing fight. I was hoping for a more intense fight between Goldar and Birdaurus that shows that Goldar had been juiced up with more power.
