one way to get that plastic smell is to seal up some of your vintage figures in small plastic bags (make sure it is sealed real well, with as little air as possible). Leave them in there a while, weeks or months to be ideal. Then when you open them back up there should be a real good plastic smell like when they were new.
The Shining is my second favorite movie. Probably for the same reason as I like Star Wars so much. Both Movies take me back to that simple time, when we were kids. Fact: The Shining and The Empire strikes Back shared a set. It is the same snow used for the winter set in The Shining and the Hoth Rebel base. Both were shot at Elstree Studios in England.
hmmmmmm too many to list. Probably a toss up between Day the Earth Stood Still. The francise movie I am happy with is the new Batman stuff with Christian Bale. BTW - Nice show, go vintage!! My comrades at the Voice of the Republic podcast are sometimes too young to remember the toxic goodness. It was REALLY strong with figures with capes. That's why I had 27 Vader figures.
Well, first off, this is the third time ive gotten strep in a month! :( The doctor thinks my tonsils may be hiding the bacteria but I dont buy it. The first 2 times he gave me only an 8 day regimen of amoxicillen. This time he gave me the original penicillin for 10 days. Im hoping this will be it! Anyway, through my coughing fits, id have to say my second favorite movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark. To me that is the ultimate adventure film. I also love that old fashioned feel of it.
Wow, sorry to hear about the rough time you're going through. I've never had strep before, but I hear that it's HELL. I hope the doctor has got you taken care of this time!
I have the old Star Wars role-playing manuals and I read that 4-LOM was a protocol droid at one time, then turned to crime, but was always polite about it, eventually getting into bounty hunting. Zuckuss was from a race that breathed methane (or some different gas), thus the breather. His race religiously worshipped the gases of their homeworld and got enlightenment by breathing them in.
My 2nd favorite movie franchise is the Terminator franchise. The 1st Terminator would be the fave from there
I thought I got that smell when I opened up my 5 year old daughters my little pony and Barbie stuff and my 3 year old sons Thomas the tank engine and just recently my wife brought me the BMF for fathers day here in New Zealand and I got that smell. The QoW
2nd would be Lord of Rings followed closely by Alien/ Gladitor/ Braveheart then Indiana Jones
In response to the Question of the Week: It just seemed easier this way... 10 - Beetle Juice 09 - The Butterfly Effect 08 - Clerks 07 - Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut 06 - Goodfellas 05 - Friday the 13th, Part VI - Jason Lives 04 - Raiders of the Lost Ark 03 - Better Off Dead 02 - Blade Runner 01 - The Empire Strikes Back
I love the show, have you ever heard the rumor about how lucas let kenner name some of their figures? and thats how f-lom got his name? when I read the article it said that kenner named him 4-lom...4-The Love of Money, thats what it stood for, cant remember the article but it always stuck with me,
as my second favorite movie, I love the fellowship of the ring, or john carpenters halloween or the thing, those two always stick out to me, with honorable mention for alien. love the show!!!!
awsome show guys. and thanks. oh by the way dedrace is pronounced (dead race):). As to the Qof the week. I would have to say that I love old horror film's. In fact the other half of my starwars room is horror memorobilla and autographs from like films. and also my respects to Mr.Reed. I'll have to drop the hammer in my trans am for him one good time. I love smokey and the bandit too. keep em coming.
You're right I did forget IG-88. I can't belive I did that, because the IG-88 story is actually my favorite from the "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" book.
Hahaha yeah, same for me. I like the new movies that he's made a lot to. My favourite that is "new" would have to be "Gladiator" That movie is amazing and something about it just grabbed me.
you know something funny about 4-lom, I remember reading somewhere that lucas film was tired of making up names and allowed kenner to name some of the characters, and they named 4-lom and it stands for...for-the love of money, i cant remember where i read that, but always thought it was funny,
second favorite movie, probably fellowship of the ring, or the original halloween, its really hard to think of a second fav, star wars eats up most of my movies....
4-LOM And Zuckuss are some of the coolest characters in Star Wars! It's fun to read more about them because u don't see a lot of them in the movies, kind of funny that they swapped the names O_o xD
Question of the week:
I think the Lord of the Rings would be my second favourite movie..well I love a lot of movies..so it's hard to choose xD
Coors is a good beer, when i buy beer it's always Coors, so good choice. I LOVED that new Star Wars smell and I have smelled it a few times on my daughter's toys also and everytime I do Star Wars comes to mind and childhood memories come flashing back.
I have that 4-LOM figure, and i definitley know that new figure smell (it's kind of addicting . . .). i believe the Greedo figure i had smelled the same way. anyways, my 2nd favorite movie would have to be "The Planet of the Apes" the original movie with Charleton Heston.
4-LOM and Zuckuss will always be near and dear to me for they are the reason I won tickets to the midnight premier to Revenge of the Sith! 8D
Tales from the Bounty Hunters is my favorite Star Wars book! 4-LOM and Zuckuss actually have more screentime than the rest of the bounty hunters on ESB I believe. Great episode!
QOTW: I am unable to answer this question as my top 5 favorite movies is a list that constantly changes, it does not stop cycling through many many movies.I am a huge movie buff, I have to know everything I can know about as many movies as possible all the time. People ask me my top5 every day and its always different. Of course, I usually just say "star wars" as #1 but for this exact moment, the next on the roster would be Cast Away with Tom Hanks. The Matrix makes my top5 a lot too.
Obviously Kenner/Hasbro realised their mistake with future releases, most recently the 30AC 4-LOM figure, which is one of my favourite figures. I was never a big fan of the Bounty Hunters but I picked up the Saga 06 multipack & after seeing the newer & better releases in later years, I just had to get the new VOTC IG-88 & Bossk etc, now if only they'd make a definitive Dengar & we'd have some excellent Bounty Hunters.
Awesome video, 5 stars. I might try to smell an Ariel sometimes. >:] My 2nd favorite franchise would be Transformers, I love the animated transformations.

As a kid if i wasn't watching SW then you would have found me watching The Black Hole(I would use my cloud car as a black hole gun).
If I had to choose a film now other than the SW Saga then it would probably be Alien.
