A bit overkill with 1000w PSU and I don't understand why you don't have it watercooled. It's not a very good chassis for air cooling, but a king for water. Your Noctua cooler would have been a lot better off in a Antec1200 (I speak of experience, trust me).
@Arkhei0sthe cooler is an asus trition 88. i was planning on water cooling the whole thing but i can’t be bothered at the moment its too much trouble if you have to change parts which i probably will when the next gen of Intel sockets come out at the end of the year. I have a coolit eco on my CPU now it that does the job.
I was looking at the obsidian 800d and I was wonder (I'm not the most computer hardware literate) If I was going to use 3 top fans plus the built in fans, do I need to use a fan control to supply power to all of them or does a motherboard have enough plug ins for all of them?
@kennyb010 the fans i got came with 3 pin and 4 pin headers so you could use the 3 pin and plug them all into your motherboard if it has enough connectors or you could just use the 4 pin molex ones and connect them to your power supply. that's what i would do if i didn't have a fan controller.
Hey, just wanted to say AWSOME build! I see u got the air flow going ^^ keep it up man. Oh one more thing, Could you be so kind and sent me your background pic to :Codebreaker@live.se Thank you mate :)!
How is your video card temp's .since i see you are running stock cooling ,i would like to know the temps in idle and load. I am considering to buy but little worried about air cooling rumors.
@Tryshaaa I had problems with the touch screen not working at times and sometimes some of the keys stoped working and you have to plug it out and back in again so i got a logitech g19. but apart from that it was good. i would say logitech is more reliable. its up to you. might just have been a bad one that i got.
@chambs1 its a fantastic monitor the colors are great. i have two other samsung SyncMaster 2433 24" TN monitors next to it and the difference between the two is massive. I Would say that it is one of the best IPS panels in it's price range.
@elander86Akasa AK-FC-03 Fan Controller Pro. well i changed from the Asus triton 88 to a coolit eco liquid cooler and it is about 7c lower at 100% load. a high end air cooler would be just as good. it is just up to yourself to decide because the performance is about the same as high end air cooling sometimes even better.
Could you show the cable management in the back of the case? How did you wire the fans in the back of the case? I am getting this case and I really like the idea of 3 top fans as the lighting for the case.
Just got it yesterday, I love everything about this case, it's so... black :D. All I'm waiting for are UV fans (should get delivered today or tomorrow). I'll make add a video when I finish building my rig. :)

mabe get slower spinning fans. the three top fans on mine are all pushing air out. i am not sure what fans i have. they are Akasa but i dont no the model number. i dont know that much about fans but i think that Fractal Design make really good ones but they dont light up

ya i was planing on it. but i dont no when that will happen lol. my next move may be an ati card because of eyefinity. but i wont be putting any more money into it for a while now.
ive also changed all the 140mm fans to Xigmatek XLF-F1453 140mm Case Fans, so iam getting plenty of air coming up from the bottom through the filter. to my chipsets . with NO dust in my system.

Hey whats up Itsjustagame good question I went with 120mm antecs because i used those to replace the stock fans on my thermaltake armor the exhaust fan 3 pin connector reached on a burnt fan controller i was using and that was about 12 - 14 inches so i went with 60 cm extension in case i decide to get another fan controller and anticipating the extra size of the 800d
No problem Itsjustagame Antecs 120mm have a pretty good reach i used one on a thermaltake armor exhaust and it reached my fan controller with no problem, i went with 60cm extension just to be safe and yes the longer the cable the weaker the power but power supplies crank enough juice you wont even notice at least in my expeience.
i think ul find the rear is a 140mm exhaust not intake , an the 120mm x3 at the top are designed for a rad exhaust, all the air coming in comes from the bottom through the dust filter. thats how mines set up.
u dont understand how this case works , the cold air it brought in from the bottom through the dust filter then rises up , if the back fan was sucking in, It would just go straight up through the top pointless job.and sucking in dust an fluff at the same time.
ya i no that would be better but if i put the back fan as intake i would have to take off the cpu cooler and turn it around so it would blow air into the case. which i couldnt be bothered doing at the moment that is why i left it as exhaust

I Know the rear is an exhaust, though its better to turn it around and make it an intake and use the top as exhaust.
Thats how they designed the H50, to draw in cool air from the rear and exhaust it at the top.

u dont understand how this case works , the cold air it brought in from the bottom through the dust filter then rises up , if the back fan was sucking in, It would just go straight up through the top pointless job.and sucking in dust an fluff at the same time.

I dont understand how it works?
Oh I think I do :-)
Everyone who I have been talking to who has this case has had their rear exhaust turned around to an intake.
If you watch the 5 clip review from overclock3d you'll see and hear that it is best to make the rear an intake.
I dont understand how this case works? Hahahaha :-D You are one funny man captain cuss cuss...

ya i no that would be better but if i put the back fan as intake i would have to take off the cpu cooler and turn it around so it would blow air into the case. which i couldnt be bothered doing at the moment that is why i left it as exhaust

your bottom fans are intakin cool air but the only thing your exhausting air out is that back rear case?
