i actually noticed that in many of the himym episodes, the Royal Diner is on the adjacent street corner. The Royal Diner is Boothes favorite spot to eat. But I love both shows dearly:)

hey, you know what, there was another mistake in HIMYM s4 too. Remember when Ted & his friends all moved out their apartment, but then they changed their minds that they wanted to stay. They decided to go to the bar, sat on their old table. Ted made a couple already sat on that table go away. It was obviously the women took her phone with her, but few minutes later she came back and ask for her phone, which was on a table... again!

Haha yeah, that happens sometimes. In fact the building that was demolished as the Arcadian in How I Met Your Mother was the same building used as the Royal Diner on Bones, the sign was there and everything.

This is the street backlot of Universal Studios in California. It may be the world's largest, but one has to run out of places eventually. This aren't proper buildings, it's all plywood. I believe soon after the suit song was shot, there was an accident with a spark which burned down half the street within minutes. HIMYM dodged a bullet there.

The coordinates of the lot are 34°08'28" N 118°21'01" W if you'd like to look it up on Google Earth or some geotagged photo service.

@SianaGearz Oh whoops! i mixed up the timeline. Since this is in the 2009/2010 series, the fire was in 2008, and the set was finished rebuilding in 2010. So they definately filmed this after the fire and while the set was being rebuilt.

As far as i know they have a whole boulevard in hollywood. it's actually just a studio where they film those scenes. they used the same corner in transformers too.

both these shows are filmed on the same street in the purpose built (made specifically for filming tv shows) fake town inside the universal film studios in LA, absolutely none of himym is filmed in NY apart from the wide angle scenery shots, they are the EXACT same set, maclarens pub is also just down that street on the right

@mjcrowe Yea you're right. This wasn't HIMYM's fault. That street is called the "New York Street" on the Fox block. Why would the directors of Bones shoot some of their scenes on that street when the show is based in DC?
