I'm one of the tails in my lion dance which we do for our school. OMFG it legit hurts my back like horse stance hurts like crazy for the 1st week it hurts my legs butt and back. Flapping gets really annoying too. But after all the pain practice is actually pretty fun. :) and lift is fun too.

When I was a young boy, I got shocked when a lion dance troupe suddenly played outside my house. Through the window, I can see the lion head popping up and down. It was as though peering into my house looking straight at me. I cried.

Now, I can't get enough of it!! And I am not even chinese :p

yep, though under appreciated but that is the CORE of the lion dance. Without a solid good tail u have nothing. Sure everyone looks at the head with all the flashy eyes and moving mouth, but it comes down to the tail. I used to play tail...even thoough head would get most credit but its about time people know the hardship of being the "tail".

There's two versions, there's the curved lip, and the flat lip.

The curved is meant to be the furious one.

The flat lip is more or less meant to be the cute and happy one.
