Very welcome to have a listen to AirwavesJoxfields Vegetable (Elephant ) Man with Joxfields tribute-to-David-Gilmour's-ca-1971-playing guitar at 1.59. If you make a visit; hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
So incredibly beautiful. It's indescribable, it brings about all sorts of thoughts, atmospheres for me. I just have a thing for Rick's organ. I want to learn to play like him!
@LuchoDecaroli In a first moment I did it listening the difference by ear, then I checked for the right tuning on the keyboard using the tuning option on my digital piano :)
@90Brahamabull but i think its something between h and c minor... they play h minor and it sounds way higher... maybe tuning issues? hammond organs often had problems with that?!
@bendasbrot Yeah exactly!...all the concert is a detuned tone higher the original tone... so it's right between C minor and B minor ( a detuned C minor)...To play this songs on a keyboard you can use the tuning option instead of the traspose and rise manually to the right tuning...this is an option which is availble in the modern keyboards or electric pianos. This " detuning registration" happened very often and it's a recording defect at the time cleaned with the modern techniques of recordin
@bendasbrot there are other examples of that "error". For example, I watched the anime Dragonball Z in japanese and italian. If you listen to the japanese Original SoundTrack in a Japanese and in an Italian episode, you can listen the difference and see that the japanese episode has the soundtrack detuned compared with the Italian episode...Dragonball Z was made in the 80's so...I suppose it was a problem of recording techniques...:)
I'm 14 year old german boy and I love the music of pf but the pupile in my class or school make me down because this music , they hear only justin bieber , akon or something like that . I don't know the reason why they dislike this music are they numb ?
why did you even click on this link?It couldnt have been in the 'Suggestions' column while you were listening to justin bieber..You probably wandered off over here.Or if you honostly think this is that bad of a song even though you like some other pf songs; I respect your opinion but still, your taste in music sucks.
@sabracadabra999 He is having his fuzz effect set on maximum fuzz, i guess. When he crank the effects output volume up from minimum he presses down on the strings above the pickups with his glass-slide. This sound is then fed through his tube-echo effect set on many repeats wich creates this special sound.
@20centjes Also , on your channel , it says that you are only 17 , and since my first comment , I have also turned 17 . So who are you calling 'kid' ?
@20centjes Actually , my age was not the reason of my comment , and it certaintly was not to 'brag' , I simply mentioned my age , as I was trying to say that I have a whole life of shitty music ahead of me , not saying that there arent a couple of great bands out at the moment . And while I enjoy all of the bands/musicians you have mentioned I just feel that there will be none as great as pink floyd again , so no , your attempt at criticism and trying to make yourself out to be superior to me -
is anyone else noticing that this song seems to have video from another take of the recording? nick mason's drum parts clearly don't match in many spots and david's hair goes from al over his face to entirely off of it in the whole band shot.
btw i know it's just how the director edited it.. i was just wondering if people noticed.
@skwiskar664 The stuff shot in front of the Pompeii footage was filmed later, in Paris I believe, with them miming to their Pompeii performance (badly!) At least they remembered to wear the same clothes for continuity! Actually, at least Careful With That Axe Eugene in this film was actually filmed entirely in Paris
I stop to exist, I disintegrate while this sound caress my mind and my soul and fullfill my brain....a mytical journey....a trip across the universe, to the angels, to God....
@ciucinciu@Milke1343King No, no way. Muse can't compared to pink floyd. No band can be compared to them. If you're looking for the same sound that they had you have to go deeper than Muse. Pelican, Lustmord, Rosetta, Isis, Mike Patton for the syd barret era, just to name few; Enochian Theory, Tool, Riverside for the Gilmour era. And still, those band can't be compared, but trust me, there is still awesome music nowadays.
Hi Krusty, we've met before on some other channel! I don't like the director's cut either but the DVD has the original version (without the interviews) on it as well.
@KRUSTYskates the falling buildings represents the sound of "tragedy" of the song... I have seen both the original and the directors cut... both are great, but I prefer the "falling buildings" version
The best part of this song!! It's beautiful.

@BuckyKhronic
Really? Thanks for remembering the date of recording of Ummagumma, what a concert and what an Lp!!
Richard was a shy genius who did not like to put himself on display. Pink Floyd without him would not have been Pink Floyd.
