Quite possibly the creepiest thing on YouTube I have ever seen. This fertility treatment is wonderful for some parents, but it is ridiculous to think that every failed pregnancy is a child lost. I really don't think that god/nature is cruel enough to grant a few cells a soul just to be frozen and tortured like that. If that was true, then you should be fighting to have this method of fertility treatment abolished. There are plenty of REAL children that need to be adopted. Focus on them.
Many are fighting against fetal experimentation, embryonic stem cell research and IVF is contrary to Catholic teaching. There are a number of wonderful adoption advocates. Many who might have previously adopted children are instead doing IVF and the by-product is Snowflake Babies. I am promoting a little known form of adoption that spares the tiniest of human lives. Where there is life, there's hope, even if the life is small and frozen.
No child is gonna thank you for "spiritual adoption", Celeb. As an adoptive parent, I've seen what it means to languish for your entire formative life loveless, resourceless, and broken-hearted. Been round the world, looking at this problem, and I have a very good idea what happens to REAL children with REAL needs. "Snowflake babies" - what a load.

Please do not stand so high on your pedestal and judge others just because you chose one road to travel in your life, and you feel that road should be traveled by all. If you stay up on that pedestal preaching to others too long, you just might get a nose bleed.
@Nellirubina Congratulations on adopting your precious child(ren)! What a wonderful contribution you have made. Until you have been in someone else' shoes, like mine, who are you to judge? My husband and I did the home study and we were on the list for adoption. That was ONE of our options. But it was MY CHOICE to go the route of INVITRO-FERTILIZATION. I wanted to be able to carry MY OWN CHILD. That was MY CHOICE. Maybe it will calm you to know that my hubby and I are also foster parents.

An embryo is potential. Not a child, not a baby, not a conscious person with a life and a soul. It's only potential - no more, no less. Just the same as being developed in a body and being flushed out monthly or being fertilized, some frozen embryos get a chance to develop and some don't. That's life.

I did IVF 7 years ago this May. It was my 5th attempt....and on the final and 5th attempt I was able to carry my one and only son to term. It was the most heart-wrenching time in my life, but I would do it all again and twice on sunday to get my baby. I was unable to do another round of IVF, though I had 4 snowflake babies still waiting on me. But I have donated my snowflakes to another mommy-one who couldn't make her own. It feels good to know I might have helped another hear the word "mommy".

Half a year later he was found in the kitchen with a knife. He had slit his throat. I have never heard that term before, Snowflake Babies. I thought when a woman did invetro, whatever embryos were left were either tossed or refrozen in case the bio mom wanted to be re-implanted with more later on maybe a year or 2 or 5 or whenever.

I appreciate very much that you are making efforts to be a good steward of our planet. Even if everyone could make one small sacrifice it would greatly help. I can also see how strongly you feel about the unborn. I may not completely agree with the expansion of human development, however I can understand getting emotionally tied to a cause you believe in! They are souls after all. I too take sides with the underdog. I just don't always see people as the underdog.
The only thing I have against the creation of further life is the fact that people are willing to bring a new life into this Hell of murder, hate, bigotry and capitalism without consideration for the soul who will have to contend with the consequences of the parents' selfish decisions. True that the parents may want to pass on their lineage but they do so at the sacrifice of bringing about a new soul who will suffer the wrath of a world ever increasingly more hating than the previous generation.

Well (like it or not) only married couples should have children for the sake of the children. I do not include same sex unions as married couples.
Furthermore, medical science and dr.s have given us partial birth abortion. So I don't trust dr.s to decide for me about IVF.
The world is a poor judge of character, immoral and rotten, so I don't ascribe to it's precepts.
Some people are not able to conceive naturally but IVF is still wrong.
Fertility is not a right, it is a gift.
