  • i think 22-30 fps is nice on crysis

i get the same framerate i bet if all the smart people turned fraps off they wouldn't know the difference

  • The 8800 GS runs very close to a 9600 GT. but still on benchmarks the 9600 gt wins 75% of the time.

  • i have an ASUS EN8800GS about the same thing as yours, but playing on all high settings i get about 20-30 fps lower when i record, sometimes i overclock it but it doesent make a big defference to me, 2 gb ram and Intel Pentium D 3.4GHz

  • Nice work.

    Low price and good FPS.

    Awesome.

  • i can tell you that those clocks with a stock cooler aren't good:) core 680MHz and memory 800MHz are much better IMO:)

  • just multiply core clocks 2,5:)

  • Motherfucker , 22 to 30fps is not a full speed.

  • oh I forgot to ask something else:

"Natural Mod" and "Reality Enhancement Mod" decreases (or increases) the number of FPS? Do they make Crysis look like DX10 ? (I ask cause I've got Windows XP and DX9)

  • Natural Mod gives better lighting, and gets rid of some fps.

Reality Enhancement mod changes a few ai tweaks, and increases particle effects from bullets fired into the ground.

  • Hey man awesome video! I've got some questions, cause I have the same card and I think I'm gonna get Crysis:

    1) is "22 - 30 FPS" full speed, or it runs kinda slow?

    2) My video card (same model as yours) is at 580 / 1450 / 700. If I overclock it at the numbers you did, will the life time of the card be reduced? (Cause I plan to have this PC for 6 years or more, and I don't wanna change anything till then).

    thanks :) 5/5 n fav'd n suscribed

  • You'res is probably the eVGA model, in which case the memory on it is made to work at 1000, the core clock should go up to 680 no problems as well.

    Hope that helps.

  • oh thanks, but my model is Geforce 8800 GS XFX Alpha Dog Edition.

And what about the other questions? Does overclocking reduce the life time of the video card? is 22 to 30 FPS "full speed" ?

    thanks :)

  • The XFX version should do fine but with lower memory clock for longer life span. The overclock should put the cards life span at about 8 years, by then you should probably get a new card xD.

and 22-30 FPS isn't full speed, but with crysis it seems pretty smooth.

  • hey on your 8800gs how far did u over clock it...

  • cant remember, replaced it for a gtx260

It was pretty hefty Overclocks on it tho, wouldn't reccomend doing it xD

  • yeah, gimme your monitor =3

By the way, overclocking it to what i have gets about 7 more FPS, so its up to you if you want to.

  • oh yeah, they are the same xD

The EVGA one has a core clock limit to 680 though. mine doesn't.

  • 1280x1024 (Max supported by my monitor)

    Very High xp.

mine was the overclocked edition, but it was still $85 so it was pretty cheap, + I overclocked it a bit more so it runs faster still.

  • i ogt an 8800GS too its good

  • Indeed
