That Shit Was Motherfucking Scary. I Was Sleeping When It Happened Then I Had To Wake The Whole House Up, Everybody Was Talking On The Phone Till Everything Calmed Down (Around 5 am)
i remember taking the trash out that afternoon at around 6:00 pm (I'm in Mcdonough btw) and the skys looked green and it overall looked like a cartoon. it was kinda strange. then when the storm hit, our lawn furniture blew over to our neighbor's pool. man...what a storm!
@supercellinga It could have been much worse, especially if that Alabama player has missed that 3-point shot that sent their game at the GA Dome against Mississippi State into overtime. People would have been leaving and out in the tornado.
Pretty clever using the end credits song from the movie Twister. I've watched so many videos of this thing hitting the GA dome and I still can't even fathom the intensity of being there and having to ride it out. :-) 5 stars
when tornadoes are in cities they can cause a lot more damage because tall buildings cause a suction effect in alleys and streets between them this really wast a big tornado just seemed like it
I had to be in Atlanta on business a week after that tornado. A colleague and I took a walk around the city to view the devastation. It was unnerving to say the least.
daing ive been to atlatanta so many times, and i remeber i went there like 4 days after the tornado hit with my dad and like one of the sides of the philips arena was like completely riped of you could see it from the street and there was so much freakin trash not even funny, and like the GA dome wich is not far fron the philips arena was like so dirty in the outside lol.
technically the tornado that struck was considered minor in open area, but it was dangerous and destructive in dense downtown areas - like the one that hit Salt Lake City in 1999.
Respect the Wind- by Van Halen. Great video. No one really understands the damge through out the dowtown area. CNN only bosted about how their building was damaged. Now I really feel bad for you all.
This is good video. Thanks for putting it together. We love to visit Atlanta & are very sad so much damage was done to beautiful downtown. Scary that this was only an F2. We had an F5 1 time outside of B'ham & it looked like a war zone.
