I was taught to grip the cork and turn the bottle, so that's what I do. never had a broken cork as far as I remember.

You shouldn't spin the bottle, it can break the cork.. Who learned you this?

You should push it out with your thumb, and control it with the rest of your fingers.

Only one mistake you didn't grab the glass by the stem, you have to do that to keep the heat of your fingers away from the champagne, non the less very proper video mate.
