Saw him in Manchester just before Christmas;didn't know i was going a friend asked me to give him a lift and he surprised me by taking me to see him---awsome concert
@Easleytee In reality, it doesn't. I was just trying to imagine the events that would need to take place for a person to find this video, take a listen and decide "No, no I don't like that at all.", and proceed to indicate so on the bar. I mean, really, you don't exactly stumble onto this Hackett guy's solo work, usually. You seek it out. It struck me as funny, so I joked about it, implying that whoever disliked it was a lonely soul. Nothing serious.
@nightowl905 Amazon.com is where I found this. I never heard of Steve Hackett, then one day while poking around their music section I discovered his music, wish I found him sooner! This is great!
@BluTrilobite Well better late than never right ? I'm sure you're also now aware that he was a member of Genesis from 1971 to 1977 ? You should listen to some of those as well if you haven't already.
Pity he ever left Genesis, that was the start of the end for both Genesis and Hackett..... out of ten for Hackett ?.... Guitarist 8, Vocals 3, Composer 3
@TheMusicalBox22 I'm beginning to wonder if the 'Squackett' joint venture will ever come out. Was this originally intended for that album? -One good thing about Yes' Fly From Here album the bass is often prominent, (w/ that topend spark as on early albums)... it's not all that /all that upfront here.
Continuing off topic.. Seems Horn as producer, unlike the tin-eared engineers mixing their live dvds in recent years, didn't forget where a good third of Yes' magic truly lies.
It's cool that he's writing more like folk tunes, but it could be better to hear them played truly in that vein, with a little less computerized tones and tricks.
one of the best guitar solos ever..i also like the guitar harmony between 12-string and nylon guitar....steves voice is amazing:)...maybe one of the best steve hackett albums:)
@MrJasonroy .....i have the whole steve hacketts discography, and i like each one of them, beacouse they are so different....for me the best are from 1975 to 1980 and 1999 to present...about guitar solo is just my personal oppinion and i am listening steve hacketts work for more then 10 years...hackett, fripp, howe, mclaughlin, di meola, russell, metheney are my favourite guitar players
Great election of your fav. guitar players, but don't forget Bill Nelson, Allan Holdsworth, Zapa, David Torn, Belew or Steve Hillage.....Fripp is the Godfather, of course.
Love Hackett, in my top 5 always, OF COURSE (p. II).

I can only say that the rest of "GENESIS" should be "BEGGING" on their knees, to re-join his band. The true sound of genesis!!!!!
