  • Did he say the life expectancy there was thirty? THIRTY?

    HOLY FUCK!

    Thirty?!?!

That's aslong as cavemen in the stone ages ffs. What the fuck is happening, why is nobody helping that country?

  • Mugabe is a mad man!

  • There are targeted sanctions against about 200 corrupt ZANU and government officials and their businesses. And even these sanctions are not UN endorsed. They are only by US and EU countries. This is why ZANU thieves, line Grace Mugabe can still travel to China and other countries. The poverty in Zimbabwe is not because of 'sanctions' that do not affect absolute majority of the people, but because ZANU destroyed private businesses and forced most of educated, productive people out of the country.

  • Once again, specifically for those who still does not get it: there are no sanctions against ordinary Zimbabweans. They can freely travel where they want. Compare it with sanctions against Rhodesia: Rhodesian passport has not been recognised by any country except SA. There are no sanctions against fair Zimbabwean businesses; they can freely export or import products. Compare it with sanctions on Rhodesia: all exports to Rhodesia and almost all imports have been fully banned by UN resolution.

  • Mugabe should be tried and hanged. In 1982 he started Gukurahundi - terror and murder of Ndebele people who did not want to align with ZANU. The scale of atrocities obscured Nazis: 3 FEB 1983: Mass beating of villagers and shooting of 2 young pregnant girls, followed by their being bayonetted open to reveal the still moving foetuses. 13 FEB 1983: Whole village beaten, and 7 shot dead, including a teacher, after digging their own grave. Witnesses refer to a fountain of blood from the pit.

  • VivaMugabe:

Well, viva the PINKS, asshole. The "Pinks" were the ones farming the land.

Zimbabwe now receives 50% of all food imports from humanitarian aid corporations...aid corps funded by whom??? Yes! The VERY WHITES YOU DESPISE.

  • There are no sanctions against Zimbabwe. Sanctions are targeted against about 200 corrupt ZANU officials, like former minister of women's affairs, Joyce Mujuru, who fraudulently received Z$389,472 from War Victims Compensations Fund prior its collapse in 1997 and leaving hundreds of thousand disabled without any means for existence. Mujuru received the money on the basis of 'poor vision' and 'mental stress disorder'. And these targeted sanctions are by US and EU only. China and SA are opened.

  • ZANU does not need to be demonized; it does the job very well itself. Can you imagine all these palaces that ZANU leaders live in? They cost tens of millions to build and millions in running expenses. Each of them took away from the people of Zimbabwe fully quipped and staffed hospital or several schools or a thousand of buses. I am not demonizing anyone, it's just plain arithmetic. Can you explain what for Gideon Gono needs more than 40 bedrooms? What do you call it? I say they are fat cats.

  • I am not trying to break anything apart, mchigubu. Even if I was, it would be naive on my part to expect this forum to be an effective tool for that. All I am doing - expressing my opinion on things. And every my opinion may be wrong including this one :)

In this particular case my opinion is that ZANU and MDC can not form a functioning government because these two parties are dramatically different. So one or the other will need to go. My bet it will be ZANU. It is clear they are loosing.

  • Learn the history of Zimbabwe, mchigubu. There was another partnership in 1979: between Smith and Muzorewa. and just as the first one was short lived, this partnership can not last because none of ideological differences between communist ZANU and democratic MDC have been resolved. Imagine the cabinet where half of ministers are communists and another half are anti-communists. What kind of decisions can such a cabinet make? This partnership is a part of transition of power from Mugabe to MDC.

  • Decent black families and youth are not "mobs". "Mobs" are those, who, regardless of their family status, flock together like a pack of hyenas with the purpose to attack their prey, to steal everything that can be sold: tools, household goods, even clothes and to vandalize the rest. They are a bunch of faceless thieves who under the disguise of restoring justice commit greatest injustice of robbing, beating and even murdering people who produce food, provide jobs and pay taxes. These are mobs.

  • Are you still ranting about sanctions? I will tell you where the real problem is: there is no food because agriculture collapsed because farms do not work because mobs ruined them because ZANU called for a land grab because it was a effective measure to win black votes because Zimbabwe received a rule of largely ignorant majority because liberal governments of Wilson and Carter allowed it to happen, sacrificing common sense in favour of political correctness. The same is true for manufacturing.

  • Zimbabweans do not "fail" to return home, the do not want to return home due to the mess that ZANU and Mugabe have created in their country. There is nothing to eat, nowhere to work, closed schools and rampant diseases. Everyone except 200 corrupt officials is free to travel without restrictions. Compare it with true sanctions that have been imposed on Rhodesia in 1965: Rhodesian passport was not recognised anywhere except SA, ordinary Rhodesians could not travel on their passports.

  • What rubbish. Whites, blacks... Who cares about the skin pigmentation? There are professional and civilized people of all colours and there are barbarians of all colors. For historical reasons in Zim educated and professional people were mostly white. Educated people, black and white, left Zimbabwe not because it is ruled by blacks, but because it is ruled by criminals that ruined the country and now appeasing uneducated majority with false promises and diverting their anger to wrong direction.

  • Read and analyze UNESCO reports, Mchigubu. Then come up with a judgement. Only 250,000 (4%, not 15) of Rhodesias 6 million population was white. The number of blacks doubled every 20 years. Blacks paid <1% of all taxes. Whites could not provide nearly million of black children with the same level of education as their own kids without destroying their education system. To give all African children the same education would require in 1967 L250 million. Total GDP was L366 million.

  • Whites could have just dropped the idea of black education, however they did not. Given the demography, black rule was inevitable in some time. The need for black middle class was desperate, so the government adopted strategy of educational pyramid: all blacks would receive basic education, only successful ones would receive secondary education and same number of black and white would receive university education, so that in 10-20 years there would be enough educated blacks to form black elite.

  • So, you are wrong. In 1972, 21 million was spent on education of white children and 20 million on blacks. Primary enrolment was 40,000 whites, 700,000 blacks. Secondary enrolment was already equal: 28,000 whites, 29,000 blacks. In 1972, 978 students were registered at the University of Rhodesia: 510 whites, 478 blacks and other races. With these policies by 90s there would have been educated black middle class, but ZANU/ZAPU did not allow this to happen.

P.S. Your caps lock is still jammed.

  • The only way to avoid racism is to make sure that all races have equal opportunities and _succeed_ in using them. Racism will exist as long as one race is perpetually uneducated, unskilful and is only capable of cheap labour. Given the demographic trends, it was clear to Rhodesian government as early as in the 60ies that Rhodesia will eventually be ruled by black majority. Rhodesia tried to prepare black majority to rule the country: it made tremendous efforts in the area of public education.

  • This is why Zimbabwe inherited superb educational system. In 1972 675,000 black kids and 57,000 white kids were in school. According to the 1964 UNESCO Report 91.5 percent of all children was at school (for comparison - in Nigeria - 40.8 percent, in Sudan - 15.9 percent, in Ethiopia 5 percent). Rhodesian government paid 100% of their education expenses; effectively white minority paid for education of blacks as in 1969 all Africans (96% of the population) contributed less than 1% of all taxes.

  • The number of blacks and whites in the University of Salisbury was equal. Appearing black middle class provided conditions for peaceful transition to equal representation of blacks in all areas over the period of 30 to 50 years (by now), however this tendency deprived black nationalists of support and so they chose the way of confrontation, boycotted 1962 elections (thus doing a bad service Whiteheads party that favoured social advancement of blacks) and waged civil war on Rhodesian government.

  • I'm not saying that everything was so good. There were serious problems stemming from huge gap between rich and poor and almost complete absence of black middle class. These problems were aggravated by the fact that most of poor were black and most of rich were white, but this difference is actually misleading. Indeed the same situation has repeated in countries of the same race. Some of these countries managed to avoid communism (like Germany or Italy) and some did not (like Russia or China).

  • Here is where I see the true cause of this kind of problems. When the society is deeply divided on extra poor majority and extra rich minority, it provides fertile grounds for communists: they offer to the poor simple answers to the questions why and what to do. They politicize the poor and mobilize them for armed struggle. After the revolution it always appears that communist state is the new capitalist and those who were poor become poorer and those who mobilized the poor become new rich.

  • Could Rhodesia evade this fate? There were many missed opportunities on all sides. Rhodesia should have been growing local black middle class which by its very presence would instil racial tolerance and mitigated white racism. They should have started education of blacks twenty years earlier. Black leaders should have been a more patient and supported liberal reforms proposed at 1962 elections instead of boycotting it. Britain should have supported Rhodesian government instead of shunning it.

  • "why then do u turn a BLIND EYE to ATROCITIES & TERRORISM committed against BLACKS By IAN SMITH"

Because I am not aware of it. Give me at least one example of a terrorist act against blacks that was approved by Ian Smith and we will take it from there. As far as I know it has never been a policy of Ian Smith to kill people just because they were black. On the opposite it was a policy of ZANU from the very inception to kill white farmers, their wives and children just for their skin colour.

  • I am waiting for mchigubu to provide me an example of a terrorist act against blacks that was approved by Ian Smith. You can join him in his futile efforts.

  • Did I use the word 'never'? Did I speak about just any violence? Do not pretend you don't understand. I said 'it has never been a policy of Ian Smith to kill people just because they were black. On the opposite it was a policy of ZANU from the very inception to kill white farmers, their wives and children just for their skin colour'. Do you know what the word 'policy' means? It is a pre-approved action plan. Ian Smith has never pre-approved killing civilians for their skin colour, ZANU did.

  • I did not say this. Please don't put the words into my mouth. I said 'it has never been a policy of Ian Smith to kill people just because they were black. It was a policy of ZANU to kill whites just for their skin colour'.

Are you still unable to produce a single example of what you are incriminating to Ian Smith's government?

Isn't it because there is none? I can give you tens of names of Mugabe's victims complete with dates, places and grim circumstances of their deaths, no problem.

  • Doesn't the truth burn, mchigubu?

  • True, I have never lived in Rhodesia; did you live there? Regardless, it is not required to live some place to be able to come up with a qualified judgement about it. Otherwise the entire science of human history would have been not possible. I assure you I do know enough about Zim political history to come up with such judgement. There was no institutionalized apartheid in Rhodesia. There was racism, but it was not enshrined in the law. All codes and Rhodesian constitution were colour blind.

  • Also, I am not saying that whites did not commit any crime against blacks. For instance Industrial Conciliation Act disfavoured black workers. But things should be seen in balance: for instance in 1969 50% of educational budget was for education of blacks; 91.5% of all black children went to school. At the same time blacks contributed to less than 1% or all taxes. So on average one white family with two children paid for education of another 50 black children. And this is just one example.

  • Finally, if you look at the entire picture: education, health care, job opportunities and legal framework, you will realize that Rhodesia provided for smooth migration from white minority rule to white and black middle class rule in 30 to 50 years time frame (by now). Blacks had excellent opportunities to accept positive reforms at least twice: in 1962 and in 1972. However black nationalist leaders did not want it and led black majority to confrontation. White government failed to avert it.

  • It was a policy and practice of ZANU and ZAPU to attack and kill white people in Rhodesia regardless of who they were. ZANU terrorists were sent to Rhodesia with an objective to attack white farms and to kill all whites and those blacks who collaborate with whites. On the opposite, it has never been a policy of Rhodesia to kill black civilians just because they were black. Civilian casualties happened, as they happen in any war, but they have not been an objective, unlike of guerrillas' case.

  • Bombers will hopefully deserve their own trial; Mugabe deserved his own one. He was in charge of ZANU. In 70s ZANU deliberately killed white civilians, including children and women and those blacks that worked for whites. In 80s they purposely gang raped, mass murdered and burnt entire villages of blacks in Matabeleland, tens of thousands were murdered. In 2000 they robbed white farmers of their land. Including those who bought this land after 1980. Now cholera. Yes, Mugabe should be tried.

  • Oh, yes? Why don't you read official report? Just google Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe. It is not labelling. It states facts along with names, dates and places. It is a 106 page PDF document, but you can go straight to page 56, chapter 5 - the village by village summary - detailing of incidents according to time and place. You will feel nausea after reading a few pages.

  • Are you contemplating that the report is falsified and the events did not take place? This is ridiculous; even on youtube you will find live testimonials. There is no doubt that all of it indeed happened.

  • I don't remember Brits doing anything even remotely resembling Mugabe's atricities since WWII. Remind me please.

This is where your weak point is, Southbobby: I give you facts - you, for the lack of any factual infornation is unable to attack the speech, so you attack the speaker.

You may ignore this, but I am not a racist because I do not believe blacks are inherently inferior or that Zimbabwes problems are due to race. Indeed the same problems existed elsewhere, including Europe.

  • Not every country in the world has corrupt leaders and I am not aware of any country which constitution would say or even imply that blacks are "sub humans". Last such country was South Africa.

As for the sanctions, I told you - there none. The real problem is that (a) industry does not manufacture goods the way it did and (b) most of commercial farms have been given to new owners who perform only at a fraction of the past efficiency. Hence, no product for the money and hyperinflation.

  • You mixed here "sanctions" and Rhodes. I replied to you on sanctions already, so I will refrain from repeating myself.

As for the Rhodes committing slave auctions in today's Zimbabwe, I will remind you that

    Rhodes died in 1902.

  • Do they? Ok, prove it. Give me and name of Zim company not on the black list that has been rejected an export or import deal and the date when it happened. I bet you will not be able to. This is why "sanctions" you are talking about do not exist. The problem is not inability to export what has been produced, but that Zimbabwe produces too little. There are no stockpiles of tobacco, maize or chrome waiting for a buyer. Sanctions are only against corrupt ZANU officials and their businesses.

  • "Mugabe is my hero."

    This clearly shows, southbobby.

  • mugabe is dictactor like Hitler and none of the world leaders are doing anything about it are they intimadated by that dickhead?

  • Read Lancaster agreement first, man. It is only a few pages.

  • Rewriting the history, mchligubu?

Rhodes can in 1888. The mineral rights agreement was signed with Ndebele (aggressive Zulu tribe) king Lobengula, whose father, Mzilikazi, came to Rhodesia only 50 years earlier and slaughtered Shona who were peaceful Bantu tribe and could not resist militarized Ndebele. Shona evaded Ndebele by moving far to North East. Between Ndebele and Shona was no man's land, which is why Rhodes decided to build there a capital, Salisbury (now Harare).

  • There are no sanctions. What you call "sanctions" is the refusal by US banks (e.g. IMF) to give Mugabe any more money. It is by no means "sanctions", it is simply a refusal to finance his corrupt regime! The only real sanctions are against personal effects and businesses owned by about 200 corrupt government officials. And even these sanctions are by US and EU only. The true obstacle for a trade is that there is nothing Zim can offer the world: both its economy and agriculture have collapsed.

  • Zambia and Zimbabwe did not exist as such in the 1800s. Mugabe replaced segregation with terror and genocide. While segregation is reprehensible, how much more so is the killing of your own people, whatever their color.

  • Mugabe is the one who is stockpiling money for his eventual getaway. I don't think you know what pervasive means, because it doesn't make sense contextually in your sentence as written.

  • As billions "rot in poverty," Mugabe's cronies are awarded lands illegally taken from white farmers. Stop labelling everything as Satanic. It undermines your credibility. People will think you're a nut.

  • mugu

  • plan and simple mugabe doesn't care about how whites feel.they're wasting their time with this inflation, cholera, and zanu pf stories.

  • While we are wasting our time, what are you doing? Saving the world? What does a black man from Mississippi know about Africa? Duh, of course Mugabe doesn't care about whites. That is hardly the observation of the century. Anything that educates ignorant black Americans about Africa is a success. You wouldn't last 5 minutes with African blacks.

  • Did you even watch the video? Mugabe and his party are faking voter lists. What does color matter where justice is concerned? Don't whites have a right to take a stand on issues? These stories are true. You need an attitude adjustment.

  • Bobby,1.That he actually faked voters is illustrative of his evil, and lack of fairness. That you see nothing wrong casts suspicion on your own ethics.2.I am American, and Britain's colonization of Zimbabwe is hardly "my own evil behavior." 3. Cutting off ties to the West has already occurred through Western sanctions.4. Hoping he gets rid of democracy makes you ideologically, undemocratic, i.e. repressive. 5. What hwe wants is not at question, it is what his methods are in attaining his goals.

  • Why are YOU worried about Zim? Or not worried, as it were. It is about to go bankrupt. Millions have fled. You CAN'T possibly think he's doing a good job. When the whites were there, Zim still have a thriving economy. How can blacks benefit from joblessness and starvation? Just look at Zambia, which welcomes WHITE AFRICANS and their economic situation has improved. I think your views against whites in Africa parallel your own hatred of white Americans.

  • Hello? Zambia had self-rule long before Zimbabwe. And it had fewer whites. It is their system. And they have fewer problems than Zim, don't they? White farmers are teaching blacks to farm in ambia and Nigeria. Why must Zimbabwe be so stupid? Because of Mugabe's racism.

  • yes mugabe is getting crazier every year.

how did that fool live so damned long...

  • u r not serious bobby people are dying at the hands of this lunatic don't u have a heart. u wouldn't last a min if u were to go to zim and c 4 ur self what he has done.

  • i wanted to give u 10 thumbs up but hey there is no freedom of expression here.

  • All the crimes are caused by MDC people who are doing everyhting to sabotage mugabe so that the world will hate him.MDC is behind all the killing.Mugabe will never do such a thing because he loves his people

  • The MDC doesn't need to sabotage Mugabe to make the world hate him because they already do. Did MDC bring down the Hunyani? Did MDC kill the Ndebele? No, it wasn't even in existence at that time. It Is Mugabe. You are brainwashed.

  • Oh media,enough is enough.Everyday brandnew propaganda.

  • Oh, people, enough is enough; everyday, brand new crimes exposed.

  • aljazeera news is controlled by the west. they bombed and bombed the aljazeera station in iraq for showing america as the enemy.

Now they are doing shows about Africa?hehe what a joke

  • Why would they bomb their flunkies? Why would their lackeys report something negative about them? They didn't, you're just wrong.

  • Are you fucking serious? They didn't bomb aljazeera? google it before you make a fool of yourself again.

  • No, fool, they didn't bomb their flunkies and lackies, as you claim, because the west does NOT control aljazeera. You are simply wrong, as well as wrongfully simple. If the west controlled aljazeera as you asserted earlier, they wouldn't be bombing them would they? If they controlled aljazeera, then aljazeera wouldn't be reporting bad things about them (the west) as you claim, now would they? I am not saying they didn't bomb them, I am saying they didn't bomb who they control. That's senseless

  • What's your point dude? Are you now going to try to convince me aljazeera is any different from bbc, american propaganda , and other european news corporations? Who cares what they have to say besides people who don't know anything and have to take every word for truth.

  • My point is that it is indeed different. That it is not controlled by the West is the reason it was bombed! Why does Mugabe prevent journalists from freely going to Zimbabwe?

  • heikkuri, Its an open secret that incoming usforeign policy secretary of state set aside ten million usdollars to fund some members for Zimbabwe's Regime Change! Mugabe was labeled terrorist by Smith, jailed for 10 years for trying to dismantle RACISM, SEGREGATION, & EXPLOITATION of BLACKS, was electricuted, water-boarded, & named COMMUNIST. ZANUPF was named "TERRORIST" With ILLEGAL SATANIC SANCTIONS, Mugabe acts with cynicism! Treat person like rabid dog he'll bark like one. Try RESPECT & see

  • see my "vids" online now before youtube takes them off again R

  • U someone lick my puss 0

  • Oh god, at least Al Jazeera interviews people in question instead of being the CNN Sound bit Rememeber kids Mugabe is bad, Tsvingirai is good. Thank god for objective reporting. (but Al Jazeera does suffer from other weaknesses, it overstretches itself and tends to biased towards their hobbyhorses).

  • yes mugabe crooked the voters role by adding people that werent even there

  • zimbabwe's official inflation index is 2,000,000% check out my profile and watch my video on it

  • The ZANU PF youth militia forced scores of voters in Morgenster in Masvingo to go and cast their votes for ZANU PF candidate Robert Mugabe. The youths have launched operation Chigunwe Tione (Lets See Your

Finger) to see if people had voted or not. Those whose finger does not show red ink are brutalized.

The operation is meant to flush out
