1) Musée Mécanique at Fisherman's Wharf

2) The Exploratorium (More fun with a large group, way more fun with kids.)

3) The botanical garden at Golden Gate Park (There are 2 museums and an aquarium in Golden Gate Park too.)

And it's usually freezing mornings & evenings and blazing afternoons in the summer.
