Very interesting! it looks like the images are from a computer game or an animated movie, one way or the other, they work great. I think part of the effect is that you used comparitively long shots. Quick cuts wouldn't have worked that well with the music. I especially like the beginning. I don't know why, but it has something slightly sinister, like the beginning of a ghost story.

Hol-ly-shit! I have no idea where the video came from, but I could write a killer screenplay based on that... way better than that hack, Tim Burton... the man who completely ruined Wonka. I have thoughts and ideas based on this video alone.

Not even slightly true. If you understood the book, you'd understand that Wonka was actually a recluse and a sociopath. Hollywood turned it into what it is- a child's dream. Wonka wasn't even close to the pansy that the new movie made him out to be. However, on a tangent, let it be a testament to Depp's acting skills. To go from an alpha male (Sparrow) to a pansy (Wonka), and pull it off convincingly... Still, I think the movie could have been much... much better.

I think the portrayal of Wonka showed him to a recluse especially with his dialogue with the children's parents.

I think it was portrayed differently in the Tim Burton movie.

I've read the book and my biggest beef with the old movie was that they did the songs very differently. In this new movie the songs are more lyrically correct ect.

I could go on, but there are differences between movie and book.

Also the whole idea of a candy factory like that is SUPPOSED to be a children's dream!

It's not a hard book to figure out and I think (and this is where we'll have to agree to disagree) Bruton's movie shines a slightly different light on the book that translates well into a good movie.
