Flowmaster Super 44 on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7V8

idk if its a stupid question or not but my dad just got an 04 too and he wants to know what he can do to make his gas mileage better....and recommendations? he gets 15.5. i have a 96 grand cherokee with the 5.2l and i get 14mpg

Replace the fuel filter, you can find them on Amazon and Summit for cheap. Get a WIX 33929 and you'll net a good 1-2 mpg better. Chrysler deemed this a no maintenance item, but I and a majority of the WJ community have found it makes tons of difference replacing it, and for <25 bucks, it can't hurt to try.

Also, many WJ owners have found that using MarvelMysteryOil has netted them a 1-2 mpg increase, sounded like snake oil to me, but it worked, again, at 3 bucks a bottle, can't hurt.

@Superstats1 its a 4.7 liter v8 theres a badge on the back of jeeps with v8's that says v8 on the lower right, and if its an overland edition then itll have an overland bad on the sides, and will have a higher output 4.7 v8. the 6 cylinders on jeeps were inline 6's until 2005 when they started offering a v6, and werent as throaty as v8's and sounded a bit more raspy. tough engines tho.... real tough

I have the same jeep and just bought the same muffler. However, I was told that inorder to put the muffler on I would need to buy a whole new exhaust system due to different diameter sizes. How did you go about putting yours on?

thats bullshit, all u gotta do is have an exhaust shop spread the inlet or the outlet of the muffler to fit the stock pipe, theres ways to do it without replacing it all, whoever told u that is trying to squeeze u for every penny u have
