  • I don't understand.

How can several shots of the same part of the sky show different detail?

Surely all the pictures are the same. No?

  • @GTOOtt Yes, it's a weird concept at first. The exposures are all of the same area and the same duration, on their own they look the same. But the noise in each is slightly different. The stacking software sees the differences (the noise) and removes it. this allows you to do a lot more adjustments to the image to bring out faint details that would otherwise be hidden in noise. Noise comes from the camera sensor, turbulence in the atmosphere, etc.

  • @Suraky Thanks for the reply.

I'll have to give it a go.

  • Can You tell me name of the music? :D

  • @FlankCobra it's in the notes and listed in the credits at the end :)

  • @Suraky uh.. did't notice it :/ sorry

  • @FlankCobra no problem, thanks for watching :)

  • Very good !!

  • Great!

  • ISO settings?

  • @ParaglidingManiac - I think they were shot at ISO800, seems to be the sweet spot for this camera.

  • That's pretty impressive. When ever I use the program my stacks don't all align up. Is there a step I'm missing?

  • This really shows how does it work.
