  • Bob Maxwell! Tab, ROFL. I saw a PS steel tonic can in the woods about 10 years ago, remarkably well preserved. Where did those basic values go? To Market Basket.

  • I got my first job at Purity Supreme as a bag boy. I mostly remember them being inefficient and slow. That particular store turned into Victory Supermarkets, and today is a Hanniford's.

  • I worked at the Angelo's that is at the intersection of Washington and Middle Street. They tore it down and built the new store further back now next to Walmart.

  • Wow, I worked at Angelo's supermarket in Weymouth Ma in the late 70's. I miss that store very much. They were a good company. I was working else where when Purity bought them out. I was a bundle boy and worked after school. Shopping carts weren't aloud out of the store we brought them out to the customers cars.

  • Haha, I'm from Weymouth and came here looking for pictures of the old Purity's. I'm only 20 though. Which one did you work at?

  • ha ha, i used to go to the heartland store in Salem. funny thing, we found purity canned vegitables in a freind's grandmother's basement last summer.

    great local videos!

  • HA... as a kid my grandmother used to take us shopping at the Salem Heartland... we used to think it was the cat's ass... long before the days of costco and bjs. Purity Supreme sounds like such a weird name now... would be an awesome name for a band, no?

  • OMFG Purity Supreme was my store! now they turned it into "Capitol" or America's Foodbasket, fuckin sucks
